dry edge of ears?

My cats ears are red and dry with dots inside both his ears, towards the outside edge (of the inside) if that makes sense. The rest of his ears looks fine. Any ideas what's wrong?

Was it always so or it is something happened very recently??

Seems he well and healty otherwise?

Ah, ears red, not the dots! I saw now.

A theory then. I have read about dark dots on mouth/nose of some red cats. And this was a local concentration of red pigment. Something entirely unharmful.
I dont know if this is it in your cat, but as he is healty... A theory, dunno.
