1. I think I've managed to keep the cat away from the hamster cage by putting orange peel around the edge. Am I imagining this?

2. What tinned food do you think is best for your cat?

1) You aren't imagining it, cats really don't like citrus smells

2) It might be easier if you list what foods are available to you there, given your location

With my first cat, my hamster was on top of my washing machine. The kitten would jump onto the washing machine and knock the hamster cage over. THe hamster would run off into the house, but the cat would never hurt him. I have no idea how to keep cats away from hamsters, but I have recently switched my kittens' food. They're now on nutro and seem to like it much better than friskies and whiskas. Tonight they had nutro shrimp chowder and loved it. The texture was much better and they ate alot more than usual (they don't like wet food very much)

I'm stuck in the house at the moment so I can't get to the supermarket but I'll go next week and note down what they've got. There's not a huge selection but several I recognise.
