Try not to let the poor thing shiver - use a warm towel to rub her almost dry and keep her in a warm place till she has finished grooming herself dry. Do you see any little fleas on her? If you can't get a flea comb use an ordinary comb with as small gaps as you can find and comb her, stasrting at her neck. If you find any insects then wash the comb at once in a bowl of hot water to kill them. As for feeding, can you get goat milk? If you can get it it is better than cows milk for cats. Or an egg yolk? Don't give her the egg white but yolk is good for sick and starving kitties. You can beat it up in some milk or water and give it to her - most cats love egg. ALso, mash the chicken up in some juice as much as you can rather than giving her pieces - she may not be able to handle that. Can you get tuna in cans? The juice is good to get kittens to start to eat, but don't give her much tuna meat as it is very rich and might make her sick.

What is the situation with your parents now? I think it is time you talk to them again, as you will find it very difficult to look after this cat on your own, and it may die. If you are going to keep it int he apartment you must find a source of proper cat food.

Awwwwwww bless her little heart
she's so thin

Can you put a towel or old sweater in the box for her to keep her warm?!.

Is she eating anything yet?, and did you manage to get through to the animal hospital?

Hi Qwprince,

This little kitten looks really young. He/she is so precious. Life is precious. Please do take care of this baby. At least he is with you and in a warm place rather than outside. Did you move him to your room?

I wish you were close by so I could help you. Are there any pet shops in the telephone book that you could call to get him proper kitten food? He has to eat. What about baby food, for example ground chicken?

My thoughts are with you.

Well thats very bad if you cant find cat food, I mean its gotta eat something. There are 2 types of cat food, dry and canned. From it's eyes it looks to be pretty young still. Keep trying the milk but warm it up first, dont give it cold! to check if it's too hot put a little on your wrist if it hurts you it's too hot for the kitten and needs to cool down. If your feeding turkey/chicken, mash a little up on a plate and add a little warm milk to it, just enough to give it some flavor. If all else fails try some tuna just so the kitten can try and gain some weight to survive. Remember it needs a water bowl too.

I hate to say it, but this kitten's chances are not good. I tis very young, probably barely weaned, and needs food, mostly liquid, every three to four hours. Keep trying to put milk into his/her mouth gently as often as you can, and do keep it warm - put a towel or blanket in the box. Please keep trying to find someone with some knowledge who can help you.

thanks jenny for making me realise that fact after nearly 2 days .. real help ...

ok finally it did drink the milk .. after i let it run around my room for quite some time ... ok i cant go to the extent of puting the milk in its mouth ... & btw uae is really a hot country with temp running up to 45C .. so i guess its pretty warm if i keep it out of A/C rooms .. anyways ive kept a small blanket in the box ... i tried the egg yolk .. it simply dint go anywhere near it .. & it has not touched the water in the last 48hrs excluding the time it was left outside ...

im not sure what to do abt the feeding part .. i'll try out the tuna next ...

If it wont eat the tuna mash it up and add a small amount of milk. It will smell the milk yet eat the tuna too because it smells like milk, it needs some weight gain. How many times a day does it drink the milk, and what type of milk are you using anyway? You sure nobody will take the kitten or at least help you get to a vet/ animal specialist? If you ask nice and say you need help this is an emergency im sure someone will help. But make sure its someone you know and if your only a kid make sure your parent/guardian knows who is taking you. Where do you live I dont nkow what the abbreviation stands for you typed? I could mabye search for a pet food place for you?

thanks .. i'll try to contact them shortly ...

ps: the culture over here is a bit different .. i guess the general population is not really fond of pets as most of the people here live in flats & have space issues as to keeping pets ... & i as u've found out by now .. UAE stands for United Arab Emirates [GMT+4] ...

I have been to the UAE (with Drs without Borders) and I know you may have difficulty finding cat food so you may have to make your own. Did you see the recipe for kitten glop on the kitten rescue sites? Do you have the ingerdients for that. It is not actualkly good to feed it cow's milk - goat's milk maybe and if you can get evaporated milk and heat that with a wee bit of sugar, that may help in a pinch. (I know that's what we did in Bosnia once - it was all we had!!). Keep the kitten warm - the temp is warm but this is a baby who is maybe 3-4 weeks old. (blue eyes, just opened I;d say, tiny!!). Wrap the kitty in a towel and hug it to your body to give her or him some body heat. Wash your hands and use anti bacterial soap or liquid if you have any when you pick her up. She is starving and needs to be fed every 2 hours for now. There is a schedule on the kitten rescue sites. It is good she is pooing and peeing on her own but make sure it is not liquidy - which can be caused by milk and diarrhea can lead to fading ktten syndrome and it happens fast,. If she has worms or fleas, they may be sapping away at her strength so she absolutely NEEDS to see a vet - it will save her life!!! You can only do so much on your own and thank God you are there!! Can you somehow raise the $$$ for the vet? Are you in the western compound in the UAE? There will be someone there who can help - I am almost certain of it. (I mean if you ask for donations) I am not saying non westerners won't help but it is a different mind set as you likely know.

This baby needs help for the fleas and deworming pills which you can only get at a vet. Can you cook some chicken and rice to feed her and you may have to forcefeed her water since she needs to drink it. Get a syringe - call one of the infirmeries and ask for a syringe or ask a vet. Or if you have any lareg dolls around, they sometimers come with small bottles that you cold use, oir eye droppers and feed her the evaporated milk and water combo or the glob mixture if you can find those ingrendients somehow.

But she really MUST see a vet!!! What a cute and yet sad little girl - she so deperately nees your help!! And a vet!!

Sweetie, I just got back to this post. It looks like your kitty might have ringworm on her ears. I am not sure, but if she does, you may become infected.

Can you help us out here and tell us what is available for you to feed this baby? She looks to be still a bottle baby- so if you have goats milk available you can dilute it with water and feed her about every 3 hours.

Keep her as warm as you can, and away from any other animals. If you have a small toothed comb, you can run it through her fur to remove the fleas. Take the comb and dunk it in some hot soapy water to shake the fleas off.

Do you have yogurt over there? Some plain yogurt is good to help kill the bad bacteria that might be lurking in this little one's gut. Also, if she starts to fade on you (and they often do) syringe a tiny bit of strong coffee into her to see if it revives her.

I am sorry that you are not able to get her proper vet care. But she came into your life for a reason and so hopefully everything you are doing will make a difference to her-

Good luck-=

& cyberkitten - i dont live in the western compound .. i happen to be a non-westerner? .. as u might know vets here dont like the idea of free or reduced charges ... & the british animal centre which i think may give free med is really far (abudhabi) .. btw it didnt take the chicken i gave initially .. i'll try the mashed version of it next ..

I am not there to see it, but look on her ears and her body for round scaly type areas. If you see them don't touch them. Ringworm is a fungus and it is quick to spread. She is a cutie, but she is really sick, I see it in her eyes.
If you give her cow's milk, please be sure to dilute it, otherwise she will become constipated and then you will have to deal with that. You can give her some plain yogurt in the milk-plain, not vanilla flavored.

Make sure she is in a box with plenty of soft bedding, and change the bedding several times a day when it becomes soiled. Keep her as comfortable as possible and away from any open air drafts.

Renjith, how is the little kitten doing?

You are wonderful for taking her in, despite the odds. There are two really important things she needs right now. The first is warmth. Even though it's hot where you are, she still needs to be kept warm and out of any air-conditioning. Do you have a hot water bottle that you can place under her bedding? If not you can easily make what's called a sock heater. Take a long sock and fill it with uncooked rice. Leave enough room so you can tie a knot in the open end. Place this sock in the microwave if you have one or even in the oven set on low. Once the sock is nice and toasty warm, place it under the kitten's bedding to help her keep warm. You will need to rewarm the sock every 3 hours or so. With the bedding, you can use blankets, towels or anything soft that she can snuggle into. If you have them, let her snuggle with a soft toy and place a ticking clock under the bedding as this reminds her of her mother's heartbeat.

The second important thing is nutrition. get as many things together from the kitten glop recipe as you can, make sure you warm the mixture a little and feed that to her. She looks very young. If she cannot lap from a bowl, use a dropper or syringe (without the needle of course) to slowly feed her. Do you have a doctir's office or hospital nearby? They may be able to give you a syringe to feed her with. If not, you can make a tiny hole or cut in the end of one of the fingers of a clean rubber glove and see if she'll suckle on that.
