When I got home tonight there were two separate piles of vomit lying on my carpet. We have now worked out it was Elvis that had been sick because he is totally lethargic, at the moment he is lying on our bed sleeping , won't touch his food (that is so not like him - he loves his food) and is totally disinterested in everything. I don't know if this wil make sense, but he looks totally depressed.

I am really really worried. He has been sick before but has never acted like this. If he is no better 2morrow, I am going to take him to the vet, but can anyone suggest what could be wrong with him? Please put my mind at rest.

But he does need to see a vet. Maybe he got into something while you were out? Try and make him drink some water, even if you have to dribble some tuna juice into it to entice him. Just keep a close eye on him as I assume you have already called the vet?

Hi Hissy. I have just called the vet. He says unless Elvis collapses there is no need for an emergency call out (it is 10.30pm here). He said not to try to get him to eat or drink cos it would make him worse and to bring him in 2morrow morning.

He said if he gets worse, to call him back and he will come out. I told him that he is sleeping at the moment and the vet said to let him sleep it off.

Even if he appears to be better 2morow, I am still taking him to the vet. I will keep you posted.
