So the other day after I had posted on here about Harley's weight and about him getting fixed, I called the people who we had gotten him from. I asked him when his birthdate was b/c I was told by them that it was July 19th so thats what I had based it on, which would make him just over 2 months old. They then told me that he was born on the Saturday of our town's festival. I was like OMG are you kidding, that was in JUNE not JULY! They were just like oh, yeah i guess so, and thats that! So...my baby is 3 months old, 4 months on October 19th...so he is an almost 5 lb kitty who is 3 months old....I feel so dumb now!
He's growing SO fast, 5lbs isnt TOO much for him is it? The vet told me that he was very healthy and since he's quite active, his weight is okay, that just seems like so much considering a few members on here were saying that their 5 month old kitten was only 5lbs! I guess all kitty's are different, right?

Yes... all cats are different sizes. As long as the vet thinks he is OK, there is nothing to worry about.

Harley's weight is perfect for his age. It's better for kittens to be on the heavier side, rather than skinny, until they are adults.

Does he think he's a Maine Coon or something?

As far as Harley goes, don't fault the folks you got him from, I have a hard time with short term dates myself, I'm sure it was an honest mistake.

Oh no I'm not blaming them, I was just very relieved actually to find out that he was older....I knew that he looked older than 2 months

I was also misinformed about Olivers birthday by the shelter I got him from--they said he was 8 weeks old and he was only 4 weeks old when I got him!!
But, he made up for it quickly and was definitely 5 lbs at 5 months--might have even been more, he's a big boned guy! He weighs about 13.5 lbs now.

Well, my 7 month old female kitten is almost 8 pounds.
My alpha male adult is only 9.5 pounds, so I'm thinking 'little' Ivory is going be a very big girl too.

Sophie's DOB is April 29, 2005. She's weighing in at 6 lbs. here, but feels heavier than that! The do grow quickly. She's more than doubled in size in the time I've had her!
