There is a wonderful state park about a 10 minute drive for my house. Since moving here, I frequently go for walks there. Yesterday I decided to take my camera with me.

I love this place because it is right on the bay, with a few inlets, but also has paths through wooded areas. It has a little of everything.

Just got out of my car, and here is the view behind me:

Here are the birds peeking through the tall grass

Here is one of the inlets, looking back out towards the Bay

I love the architecture on this old stone bridge - it is used only for pedestrians and bicycles

an inlet

the seagulls are very resourceful and drop the quahogs on the pathway to get at what is inside

There are beautiful stone building in the park

The chipmunk wanted nothing to do with me!

There are a lot of stone walls along the pathways. I can't wait until these leaves change color!

The wooded path ends out at the Bay

There is a walkway along the water

There are many sea birds

This one just caught a crab for his lunch

Where do all of you like to go for a walk?

WOW! Great pictures! What an amazing place to go for a walk!
Thanks for sharing them! I have a lot of pictures like that too from over here, we have a lot of trails and stuff that are just beautiful, especially when the trees on the bluffs start changing colors, I can't wait for that to happen!
I will have to dig thru my pics and post some

I enjoyed the pics. I'm from MA but don't recognise the area. Looks so serene. Here's a pic of a nice place just off of Nahant called Egg Rock.

Karen, thank you for sharing those lovely pictures! What a beautiful place to escape to- and it's so conveniently close to your home!

When I go for walks, I go out to the beach on Tybee Island. When Bradley and I started dating, we'd cap off each date with a long walk on the beach. *sigh*

Tricked you!

I live on the RI border. It's actually in RI. Today I took a different route in the park and ended up on a road by the water. I walked by this house that was for sale.

How beautiful! My Dad (RIP) always wanted to visit New England, it was the only place he ever really wanted to see. Never made it
. Perhaps, I think, I should really try to make some sort of a memorial visit (I've never been either.)

But not in the winter
!

We do have very erratic weather up here.
I would suggest a visit in the summer or fall for the foliage. .
