Presently, we have 3 adult cats and 3 7 week old kittens.

The older cat, Bonnie, a 10 yr old spayed female is being terrorized by Buddy, a one year old male and the father of the kittens. He is presently not neutered but I have an appointment for the neuter on Thursday. He chases Bonnie and sometimes corners her in a window. Sometimes he will not even let her eat or use the litterbox in peace. Will his attitude change after he is neutered? My husband wants to get rid of Bonnie since she would probably be more happy in a home without any other cats. I don't want to get rid of her, but I want her to be happy. This doesn't happen constantly, but enough for me to be concerned.

Any help as to how to find a good home for Bonnie will be much appreciated.

We are probably going to keep the kittens (2 girls and 1 boy) who will be fixed when the are old enough. Sissy is going to be fixed when the kits are fully weaned. Hubby's choice, not mine. I would much rather have her fixed the same time as Buddy.

The chances are good he will be nicer to Bonny after castration.

Look out thought, Buddy can make Sissy pregnant again anytime as both live together and both fertile...
He may do it also some days after neutering too...

If you want to find him new home: it is easier to find home for a nice castrathe then for a tom who must be neutered...

We are keeping Buddy as he and Sissy are inseperable. We need to find a home for Bonnie, the spayed 10 yr old.

I agree - it is extremley likely that Buddy will calm down after his operation.

Can you wait to see how that goes before rehoming Bonnie?

how long have all these cats been together?

I am hoping to keep Bonnie. I will just have to sweet talk my hubby into keeping her if Buddy calms down. They have been together for a year and they have never gotten along but just tolerated each other. Bonnie used to pick on Kiki, my 20 yr old cat who had to be put down last year due to kidney failure. Now she is the one being picked on. Bonnie lost her brother, Clyde, 5 1/2 yrs ago when we used to let them outside. We think he was poisoned and died before we could take him to the vet. They are no longer allowed outside. We got Sissy and Buddy at about 8 weeks old after Kiki died.
