Rocket has been coughing/wheezing

I though it was a hairball but when my boyfriend heard it he said it sounded like he was coughing or wheezing. He has more experience with cats so I'm worried. Also I don't know what a hairball sounds like. Anyway I have an app with the vet for 9.30.

He is playing less than usual and is avoiding mica. Does anyone have any advice? I'm worried.

Hairballs can sound worrisome, what with all the hacking and choking sounds... try not to panic. The vet appt will shed some light on your Rocket's condition. It might be nothing to worry about, and even if it is, vet will give you suond advice. Good luck! Hope it's just hairballs!

Thanks decadenz's Avatar decadenz! I hope thats all it is. He was sniffing Micas butt a few minutes ago so maybe hes not so bad. The vet should enlighten me.

I took him to the vet who asked me to watch him for the next few days. He seems fine has not coughed since the last time. I'll keep you posted.

Oh dear, doesn't sound very good, my male has the same trouble at the moment plus some weird cat-cold-like symptoms and I'm taking him to the vet as well, don't like this pale nose and his watery eyes and all that
