i just put frontline on my kitties for the first time and i was wondering how long i need to keep them away from each other while it dries. i checked frontlines website and it doesn't say anything but i figured since they're not suppose to be able to get at it i might want to wait

12-24hrs. I would suggest! But you can just wait till it is dry to your touch...

Yeah..it turned pretty oily on my cats fur...easy for kittens to lick off of eachother. Because I only have 1 cat I didn't have to worry about that, but I agree with emb_78. i think that I put it on my guy at 5pm and it was dry by morning.

I wouldn't worry too much because it tastes horrible so even if they do try to lick it off, they will quickly be discouraged!

Frontline is non-toxic so ingesting a little will not hurt them. The emergency vet practice I work at once had a cat come in who was frothing at the mouth because his humans gave him a dose of Frontline orally! (Geez, when all else fails read the directions, I guess...obviously these folks were not the sharpest tools in the shed.) The cat was totally fine and was just reacting to the bad taste.

It does cause diarrhea and vomiting if licked!

When we apply the medication to Bijou and Mika, we do it just before bedtime and keep the cats in separate bedrooms (Bijou sleeps in our room and Mika in our daughter's) overnight. By morning the stuff is dry. That was our vet's recommendation - just to separate them overnight.
