Is it possible to tell how much of his permanent growth a 6 month old male mixed breed kitten has? Trjegul is a stray that I recovered from Friends of Strays when he was 12 weeks old. He's grown quickly and is now about 70% of the size of his best pal, Eowyn. I'm trying to figure out if he will get bigger than her or stay about the same size. This is important as I have a very bad back and can't pick up a heavy cat.

Well, as long as you watch his weight...he probably wont get too heavy.....

as for size..I was told by a vet once that you can get a good estimation by looking at whiskers and paws.....seeing how big they are........

I'm not sure how to scale this though

They usually don't get much longer or taller after 7 months but they do gain weight as their bodies mature. It's just like humans - we stop growing taller a year or two before our physical development is really complete.

Thanks all, well if he doesn't get any bigger after 7 months that will help. That would mean he only has about 6 more weeks of growth left. He's gotten a lot studier in the past couple of months, I've got a feeling he's going to be quite stocky. I have one overweight cat. No one else is as she bottom feeds out of their bowls when they don't eat everything I put down.

I don't worry about how big they will get. I've had 6 month old males that turned out taller then expected. I figure they are full grown at about a year to a year and a half to be developed in height/body type/weight.
