Cerebellar hypoplasia (the technical term) is caused when the kitten is exposed to the panleukopenia virus in utero. It causes a lack of motor skills but cats with CH can live long, happy lives. There are, however, other neurological conditions that show similar signs but can be more detrimental to your cats health. I would take the kitten to a different vet--call around until you find one who knows something about CH and can make the proper diagnosis.

I have 3 wobblers syndrome cats.  One is 6 years old and the other two are 5.  I think all had this disease from in breeding and came from same cat.  We love them dearly.  I feed them with a baby spoon and water them with a big dropper.  They sleep in a baby play pen and during the day lie of the floor, where they roll around, on an old blanket.  They sleep all night and a good part of the day.  They have separate dirt boxes and use them most of the time.  I do a lot of laundry but they are worth it.

This is an old thread, I hope you'll get around to posting in newer and more active ones as well.
