Just brought a new kitty (Lucy 6 Weeks) home yesterday. My two boys (Ivan and Frisby, both a year old ) DO NOT like her!
I didn't find this site ubtil AFTER I brought her home and she'd been running around in the house (we live in a mobile home). So now 24 hours after she's been here and reading everything about introductions, I put her in a pet carrier with food, water, sleeping blankies, and a small litter pan. Since we live in a small mobile home, that is the only space she can have. Ivan, the oldest by a month, isn't really aggressive toward her but if she is in the same room with him, he will hiss, growl, snort and runaway under beds etc. Frisby has followed her around a bit before I put her in the carrier and hissed occasionally, sniffed at her, batted at her. I figured one of the blankets she is sleeping on can come out in a few days for the boys to sniff. The boys don't really lay in one spot so they don't have anything to swap with. Is there anything else I should be doing? I wasn't home when Frisby came home and we lived in a different house.

Keep the new kitty separate for at least a few days. Let her have one of your bedrooms. Put a litterbox, food and water in there for her. This will give the three of them time to get used to each other. Don't just put them together in the same room right away.

I'm concerned about how large this carrier is. I wouldn't want to put my cat in a typical cat carrier for more than a maximum of a few hours at a time (for travel only). Do you have a door on your bedroom or maybe your bathroom that you can lock her into? I know it might be hard to adjust, but keep in mind it should only be for a week or two and then -in theory- you can change everything back.

Moved Miss Lucy into my daughter's room and discovered that the tiny thing can slip out under the door!! Little sneak. So we tucked a bean bag chair in the crack for now until I find a more suitable door crack blocker. Will keep you posted
