No Purrs from Kareem

Hi there....
Kareem is 5 1/2 years old and I have never once heard him purr. I don't believe there is anything wrong with him. He meows fine, but when he's getting pet or cuddling I can feel him purring in his throat but nothing comes out.
Just wondering why?
Any thoughts?

I had three male cats, none of them purred. I wouldn't worry about it.

some cats are louder than others, i have a cat who you can hear like 10 ft away pur and another one that you can only feel in his throat.

Sometimes I can hear Harley a good 10 ft away! He purrs so loud when he's content

Yep, I agree with the other members. Some cats purr loud and others don't. You can put your hand on the throat of the stealth purrer's (is that a word?), and you can feel the vibration when they purr, even if it isn't audible.

He looks pretty durn content in that photo! I'm looking for the thread which would provide an update on Kareem's sores. How did his vet visit go? I may send you a PM if I can't find the thread. Hope he's doing better.
