your cat(s) has ever done?

We all know our beloved kitties can exhibit some pretty strange behavior at times. Gracie is just a weird cat overall, so it's hard to pin down just one strange thing she's done. So far, nothing really stands out with Peter, but
here's Katie's strangest moment:

A few years ago I was doing some baking at Christmas. The recipe called for rolling dough in some chocolate flavored powder sugar. So, I put the required amount of sugar on a towel on the kitchen counter, then left the room for a moment. When I returned, Katie was on top of the towel, rolling around in the powdered sugar, in obvious bliss. I'm not sure what possessed her to this! Anyway, I managed to brush most of the sugar off of her, but she smelled nice and chocolately for a a week or so after that.

Anyone else?

On the weekends I frequently sleep on the couch.
Ivory has always woke me 1 or more times in the night for special cuddle time, usually by mewing a few times.

Last night however, she did the strangest thing, she attacked the seat of my sweats!
She never bit into me or anything, just the sweats.
She was clamping down on them and giving them the death shake.
She did it several times before deciding that was enough and she curled back up with me and went back to sleep.

For a while, Jamie was hanging down the back of a chair over his food - like a bat. I never managed to get a photo of him doing it, and for some reason he stopped. ZsaZsa does something very strange. We have wire mesh over our front cellar windows, actually nailed into the window frames. She goes outside and pulls it off (she did it again Saturday night). She can't be trying to get in, because she has her cat flap for that. We're wondering if she's trying to "liberate" Jamie.

Under the cats, mostly.
Tosca is less wierd and more stupid. Definitely quirky, at least! Her favourite place to sleep is on top of Rune's running shoes.... usually with her nose right inside one of them!

Every morning when my Hubby is driving out the driveway on his way to work, I step outside the front door to wave at him. Tedy, our yellow tabby sits inside the glass door and puts one paw up as if he`s waving too. Strangly this is the only time he does it. I`ve never seen him do it any other time I go out that door for any other reason.
I mean...he could`nt REALLY be waving....could he?

Jamie is nuts about Robert's shoes. He slept in them as a kitten, and still likes to rub himself or lie on them. He seems to have a "thing" for sweaty feet.

Smudge will get in the window sill, and chatter, CHATTER at other animals. Its really weird...like this clicking sound in the back of her throat. She almost sounds like a beaver or something. Its so funny to watch her do it too.

Little Missy will run in front of you, dive under the table and swat at you when you walk by, and take off in a catch me if you can kind of way...which is strange, because she rarely leaves the kitchen chairs.

Merlin, when its time to eat, will go in the kitchen, meow this painful meow, fall onto his side and put a paw in the food dish and bang it on the floor, as if hes saying "Mama, I am thin in the skin...feed me before I parish!" Its really funny. He'll slide the other cats bowls away from them too. Hes one smart fluff.

Haylee-Marie will manage to fit her body UNDER the bathroom door if you lock her out. And then she will lodge a complaint with you for locking her out. Thats her rule: There better never be a closed door, you brat, you.

Jinx...he has a penchant for my husbands boxers. If I sort the laundry out, and try to get folded and put away, he has generally managed to worm his way into a pair. One day about 2 weeks ago, he got his head stuck in the front slit and was running through the house like there was a demonic dog chasing him, with the legs flapping behind him. He is a short haired cat, and by the time I rescued him from his own device, he was as fluffy as a persian!

Samantha....she like licks at anything when you pet her...especially if you scratch right by the beginning of her tail. She loves it and licks at the air...its too funny.....

I think thats everything thats really "strange" that they do.

I went away for the night once and left Reilly alone...bad idea!!

He pulled all of my curtains off the wall and ripped the venetian (sp?) blinds right out of their bracketts, he shredded toilet paper on the bed and opened an unopened bag of swedish berry candies..chewed them till they were sticky and I had to cut them out of the carpet. My vet calls that extreme seperation anxiety!!

I totally think he's copying you, but not really knowing what he is doing.

My old cat Teeka was so funny. I would tell her to come on the couch and "eat popcorn and watch movies with mummy". So she would come up and sit beside me and i would give her a tiny bit of popcorn (only the soft part) and she would eat it.

One time I put a piece of popcorn in front of her and she wouldn't eat it. So I said "Teeka, watch mummy" and I slowly picked up a piece of popcorn and put it in my mouth. She watched carefully as I did this, looked at the piece of popcorn in front of her and then ate it!!! Me and my boyfriend (ex) just stared at each other in astonishment!!

Zoe can't stand it when I'm on the phone. She will follow me around the house, purring and meowing, begging for attention. Then when I get off the phone, she doesn't care anymore. She also follows people into the bathroom because she can't stand a closed door. lol
Miss Kitty will get a wild hair every once in a while and gallop from one end of the apartment to the other, totally out of the blue, and then lay back down.

Kitties are silly things, aren't they?

Maya likes to do summersaults when she wants to get something..or wants something really bad. If we are eating in the dining room, with guests, she puts her little head down and does a summersault. Lands on her back with legs wide spread, and then does it again and again and again until we give in and give her something. A week ago my girlfriend was over for dinner, and while I was in the kitchen getting the food ready, friend sat at the dining room table, well maya got up on the table and was doing them there. Quite entertaining like the circus!

Alfie has a thing about digging on the table at the moment. It's a solid wood dining table, but he'll jump on top of it and start digging furiously (with claws in thankfully), then chirp and roll over on his back. Then chirp again, get up and start this digging motion again! No idea what on earth he thinks he's doing!

All my cats do strange things.

This morning my daughter & I witnessed just about the funniest thing I've ever seen Dusty do in her 13 years. Dusty was doing her usual loving stuff, rubbing legs, meowing, begging for Emmy's milk from her cereal. Then Dusty goes into the next room, and STARES at this piece of her birdie that she killed the night before (*toy* birdie... not real).

So Dusty went from staring... intently... then jumped STRAIGHT UP... all fours up in the air! Like a Lemur! And beat the dead birdie again & sprung away growling.

It was great! Strange but great.

Hammie's "strange thing" daily is he pretends to spray!!!!! He is neutered, totally "bobbed" back there. Cannot and willnot spray or pee anywhere other than the boxes. Yet he will get all happy, back his butt up & wiggle that loooong tail, acting like he's spraying. Odd.

stampit3rd, your kitty can indeed be waving. I had an adorable gray tabby girl, now gone to the Bridge, that waved at us a lot. I was having a yard sale, and I noticed people looking at something on the back of my car as they drove past. Georgia was standing there waving and meowing at cars as they went by. She did it all morning. I think her being cute drew in more people than my sale.
