I called my mom this morning and then I went and got her and my dad an anniversary present....19 years tomorrow...just knowing that they have been together for that many years, happy as ever and going on strong makes me smile!

We were handing out purple ribbons at the gates on post this morning to mark the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. One person coming through (a male, no less) thanked us for all we do. That definitely made me feel good

I just found out that the Run for the Cure (breast cancer research run) that me and my work team ran yesterday, raised $190,000 for research (and we are a community of only about 75,000 people!!).

I picked up Bucky from the vet, she had her spay done yesterday and so she had to spend the night. I was very happy to bring her home!

I haven't done it yet but I feel good knowing I am leaving work in 30 minutes to go to the grocery store and pet store to buy my new senior foster cat chicken and rice and high quality food like Wellness to make sure she gets good food and enjoys eating it. That isn't much but I haven't done anything else but sit at my computer and work all day.....

Early this morning...I went to my exercise class. The music was disco for the aerobics work, then we lifted weights.
We shared lots of laughs & smiles. It was a great way to start my week.

I looked at cute pictures of cats and kittens on TCS. I also read the heartwarming story about the kittens MA rescued and nurtured.

Today I havn't been able to speak quite right. Things just keep comming out wrong. I won't tell you what I said but I'm soooooo glad my husband was the only one in the car. Then when I was signing the reciept at a store I TOTALLY HORRIBLY misspelled my last name. And I have ABSOLUTELY no clue what I was thinking as I was writing! So I havn't done anything too nice I guess but at least I've laughed at myself!

I smiled bright and early when I woke up and realized that I was in my OWN new apartment with no obnoxious roommates and two kitties sharing my bed with me after a whole month!

There's no place like home
I had a job interview on Friday where the interviewer made me the offer within 5 minutes of starting the interview, then proceeded to try to sell me on the job for 45 minutes. In the course of the interview, I asked him about himself and what he liked to do outside of work. He said he lives for going to the lake on weekends.

So today, I asked him a follow up question thru an e-mail. I simply asked him what it was about the lake that appealed to him. If he said anything that involved noisy power motors, I would have turned him down. His answer talked about solitude, peacefulness and isolation to make him think, and paddling a kayak.

I smiled, and will take him up on his job offer.

I took a short break (which I don't normally get) and sat outside for a few minutes. There is a stray cat that wanders outside the hospital a lot. I sat outside in the beautiful weather and rubbed his belly. I also named him Rich.
