Mine sleep on round soft cat beds, and while I am cleaning the kitchen floors, I place the two beds on top of the large wire dog crate until the floor is dry, and lo and behold, I will find them in the beds, up on top of the wire crate!!

At night the preference for all three of mine is with me in my heated waterbed, though Purdy will sometimes sleep on a dining room chair and Sheba, I'm not quite certain, but I think she occasionally sleeps on the carpet at the foot of the bed between the overhang of the bedspread and the underbed drawers.

Now the daytime is something else. Red Cat's preference is who knows if he is outside. He disappears. Maybe in or under a tree or under the porch.

When Purdy is outside he spends most of the time sleeping on either the front porch or on the railing of the back porch. When they are inside during the day, Red Cat's number one preference is on the floor in a narrow slit between the furnace and the wall in the furnace room. (He DEMANDS that I open the door and let him in there several times a day.) Though if I'd let him, he would prefer the storage room under the stairs, where he could go way under the stairs and hide behind all the boxes where no one could possibly get at him. Purdy also sleeps in the furnace room sometimes, too, but is more apt to sleep on top of a soft quilt on my pressing table in my sewing room. Unless I allow him to sleep in my lap, of course. He'd take that choice any time.

Sheba usually sleeps in a nest bed in my sewing room during the daytime. But today I found her between the folds of a quilt I'm making and planning to enter in the local quilt show later this week. Awk! I didn't want cat hair all over that quilt!
That's why I folded it all up and put it on top of the sewing machine cabinet (where the cats never go) before I left to run a couple of errands!

Mine sleep wherever they want to, but generally on soft surfaces. At night, they'll sleep on my bed, and that's always where they are when I come home as well. They usually follow me around room to room when I'm home. They have a chair next to my computer chair (for the rare instance when only one of them is on my lap), and they love to snuggle under the blanket with me on the couch while I watch TV. Or they sit on the papazan chair or their carpet covered scratching post thingy. I'm usually not in the kichen long enough for them to need to get up from wherever they are, and there aren't any soft things in there. While I'm showering, they'll lay on top of the litterbox, on the toilet seat, or on the shag bathmats.

I'm considering buying them a double decker wicker cat bed I saw at the pet store, but I'll wait to see how much Rowan's neuter will cost before I buy it.

Oh, yeah... they'll occasionally use the cat bed that I made them. I get the feeling that it's only when they're bored of my lap, and I have laundry on their chair.

The cats in the cat room have all sorts of different beds and hidey holes but this one sits on the dining room table, and it's Elmos! I couldn't really describe it so I thought I would share a picture. Isn't it cute!!

The bed they are snuggling in the middle picture. There are three beds, one for each kitten and Charcoal sleeps with us on our bed.
