Well, it's Sunday night and the boys are still here. One family came round to see Wellington and Napoleon yesterday and the mum and their girls loved them. They would have taken both, I think, but their father made a lot of objections about them not knowing how long they would be here, etc, so they are reconsidering. The other people never showed up, but I called and they said they would come as soon as they can. I don't know what to make of that. Anyway, now the boys are all healthy and tested I have let them downstairs and they have made themselves totally at home, as you can see. The girls are tolerating them well, even when they bag the favourite baskets and chairs! They are both very smart - they managed to follow Persil out the cat door despite not having magnets, and I found them on the terrace. Now the cat door is locked till I sort out a solution.

Here are pix from yesterday, when I thought they might be going to a new home. As you can see, they are looking well, still a bit thin, but not the bags of bones they were when I found them:

The kitties are just beautiful.

Is it possible that you could keep them?

I really don't know what to do - I am trying to be responsible here and it is difficult. I still daren't tell my landlord I have them, and Napoleon is still not quite well - he left poop everywhere today on walls and carpets that were decorated and cleaned only a month ago, and while I can deal with it, practically and emotionally, others can't. Anyway, with all that happening, I am glad they are still with me. The girls are tolerating them well, some growling and swatting, and some play-chasing, but at feeding time there are five long tails all side by side at the bowls and arguments are forgotten! I am no nearer finding them a home, and I am terrified someone is going to want only one - that would be awful for both of them. But of course I will keep them if no-one comes forward - I would move house if necessary, though I hope it won't come to that.

They are very fortunate kitties to be under your loving protection. I will pray that Napoleon feels better & that somehow, this situation is resolved in a positive way for everyone.

Someone came round tonight who was interested, but I didn't like her. She claimed to have had cats all her life ( she is only early 20s), but she did not seem to bond with any of them, or want to sit with them or pet them, and I was amazed to see Napoleon run away from her and hide the second she came in! He has never done that, and even tolerated the children picking him up and carrying him around the other day. So that was a no-no.
