I have a 5 month old kitten, Elliott. I also have a dog, Riley. Even though Elliott has dry food at all times, he always wants to get into Riley's dry dog food. The both eat Purina food. Is the taste similar for the dog food and the cat food. The pieces are similar in size. Will it bother Elliott eating dog food? He doesn't eat alot, just a few pieces here and there before I put Riley's dish away from him.

the food is not poisonous to take a bite now and then or a meal now and then, but they shouldnt have more than a little. Wrong proportions, so to speak in my rather bad english.

A cat eating often and much dog food would not be well of it, and vice versa. - EDIT ie cat food is not healthy for a dog either.

They would be sick to be honest. (I did saw it well explained on a Swedish forum).

Most dog food doesn't contain Taurine, and without Taurine a cat will develop heart and sight problems. A few bits here and there will be fine though, just make sure the majority is cat food.

No, most dog foods do have added Taurine these days, but it is still not a good meal for a cat, especially a kitten.

My Elliott looks alot like your Vash except Elliott has a black spot on his chin. He was named for Elliott Sadler a race car driver and Sadler has a goutee just like my kitty.

I would try to keep him from doing so, but just a piece here and there isn't going to hurt him, imho.
