My cat used to have the greatest disposition, but ever since she became pregnant and had a litter of kittens ( 1 kitten) she has been nasty to anyone who visits..especially my grandaughters who she is used to (they have visited every weekend since she was a kitten) This started during her pregnancy and has continued, the kitten has just left for his new home and she went into heat again immediately. Does this have something to do with it. Has anyone had this happen before. Any suggestions would help. She gives no warning and everyone is afraid to go anywhere near her! HELP!!!

I've never owned a pregnant cat, but my guess would be that her hormones might be making her overprotective and stressed.

Your best bet would probably to have her spayed. That would get rid of the problems with her getting into heat and getting pregnant again. Hopefully as her hormones stop influencing her so much, she'll be back to her old self.

You may be right I may have to have her spayed. She is a purebred himalayan and our intention was to breed her but not at the expense of her health. I hope your right and hormones and stress are a factor.

I think you should post on the breeders board, to see if they have the same problems. Certainly her hormones caused her to feel very protective of the kitten. Spaying her will solve the problem. But maybe another breeder has an idea of what else could help.

Best of luck.
