Hi, I'm new to this forum. I currenlty own 2 cats, both approximately 10 years old and I own a 1-year-old Bichon Frise. Anyway, today was a bad day. My orange cat, Grover, had an abscess on the side of his face that was a large as a baseball. I called my vet and he is on vacation so he listed 3 other vets to take him to, the first 2 couldn't fit him in today (Friday). I ended up having to take him about 40 miles from my home to a vet I never heard of. They ended up having to put him in surgery so they could drain the abscess. The cat is now fine, but I'm not. It cost me $301.40 for this. I think that is absolutely ridiculous!!! But what could I have done? I couldn't let the cat suffer all weekend. So now I'm beating myself up about spending that much money (that I really didn't have to spend) on my 10-year-old cat. Okay, I think I feel a little better now. Thanks for letting me rant. What would anyone else have done?

second of all....don't beat yourself up over the money...you're right a responsible cat owner would not of let thier kit suffer through the weekend........

you did the right thing, believe me.....to second guess yourself, is demeaning yourself and your cat........

If you had it to do all over again..I am sure you would have dont the same thing...ad paid the 300$

I am sorry about your kit........I hope grover is feeling better..... Please keep us updated on his preogress......
