Hello! I am the reluctant cat lover, Aries. Had cats since childhood, but always considered myself a dog person until forced to live with a cat. The cat population has now overtaken and become the majority species around our house. I must admit that cats are unique and I have not found any two alike yet.
My kitty family consists of Peter, Snow, Kit Kat, Angel, Leighia, Stormy, Padma, Milo, Midnight, a couple of the neighbor's cats, and as of my lunch today, Mom has spotted another stray hanging about. I have quite a menagerie on our stray farm: me, Mom, and my daughter, an angelfish named Barbosa, the cats, Blackie (black, mostly Lab dog), Sassy (tan and black mostly Chichuwau(?) dog), and Tricksie (the neighbor's dog), and a rooster named Phil and his harem of about 5 hens.
Obviously, I'm an animal lover and a sucker for strays, but the cats seem to keep showing up daily and staying. Any ideas on encouraging the furry beggers to take up residency elsewhere would be extremely welcome, barring abuse or carting them off to the pound.
I have had about half the mob spayed or neutered and am working on the others as I can afford it. I become attached and won't let them go except to good homes and those are hard to come by most of the time.
Glad to find this site. It seems like a good source for info and sharing kitty love. Nice to meet all of you!
