Trent is so silly!!

I've taken to having a glass of wine every so often in the evenings. Just one glass, nothing much. A few nights ago while I was having my glass of wine, Trent was snuggling with me on the couch. Every time I took a sip of wine, he wanted to smell my lips and breath (and give kitty kisses
). Well, tonight I am having a little glass of wine. Trent jumps up on my lap and is giving me BIG kitty kisses (he doesn't lick or nip, just puts he nose/mouth up to my mouth for "kisses"), when I realize he's sniffing my lips again!
While I would NEVER let him actually taste wine, he sure does like smelling it on my lips!

Perhaps your Trent just knows about the good stuff! (it was the good stuff, right?) Or perhaps you're onto something great. You could market a non-alcoholic cat-safe wine.

My cat Star once drank half a glass of scotch and soda that my uncle (who just died last week) left on the coffee table while the family was preoccupied with the Thanksgiving dinner. Result: one very drunk, confused and sleepy cat. It was as funny as it was sad. Someone took a picture of him. Wish I had that shot. Poor little guy. We probably should have watched over him all night, but Star was about on life 5 of his 9 lives, so we knew he was going to be OK. And he was hung over by morning.

Maybe Rosie will share with him. Ooops - looks like the wine is empty and she has moved on to harder stuff. Sorry Trent!

Max had one sniff of my wine last night and turned and ran! Was obviously a teetotaller in a prior life!

When Pixie was a kitten (6 months?) she started drinking a Chambord something or other that my roommate had left on the table during a party. She didn't get too much of it, but Pixie was one happy kitty, lol.

Fred used to love White Russians. You could not look away or it would be gone. After he would steal some, he would lie on his back in the middle of the floor and sleep. He would always seem a little hung over the next day. He only managed to get some a couple of times, we started being much more careful after his second hangover, he looked so pitiful.

Well, I can kind of see a White Russian, I mean, they've got milk or cream or something like that in them don't they? But ... vodka and coke??? Of course Mithril is turning into a real "if it doesn't move first I'm gonna eat it" kind of cat
anyway. They're pretty good about not getting up on the table anymore (and haven't "discovered" the counters, thank goodness,) but I know better than to trust him around anything remotely edible/drinkable any more!

Whenever we have people over and if there is a beer on the counter, he will try and drink whatever is left on the top of the can, I can only about imagine what he would be like if he really got ahold of some, he's a terror now, he's be all over the place!!

Hubby drinks alcohol-free beer 99% of the time, and allows Jamie to play with/sip off the head. The thing is, when he drinks regular beer, Jamie samples it, and then we sometimes have a staggering kitty.
