So I bought Oliver one of those lambskin snuggle balls from Fosters and Smith several months ago... turns out, he's been more interested in the box and it looked like I had invested in a new $35 floor pillow for myself... I tried putting some treats in the middle of it, his favorite blanket and some shirts I had worn, but he never got more than a foot or two into it... when we'd pick him up and put him in it (ie: when he'd fallen asleep in our lap or something) he'd just dart right out... well tonight I was cleaning my freshwater fishtank which is kinda close to where the snuggle ball is... in the cleaning process, I knocked my automatic feeder off, spilling fish flakes alllll over the place, including on the snuggle ball. Well, as soon as I dusted off the snuggle ball, he jumped right in!!! He's been curled up for at least an hour now in it!! If I had only known a little fish food woulda gotten him in it..... silly cat he just better use it regularly now - cant be wasting fish food to simply scent his bed!

Glad he's finally taken to it! Those snuggle balls look pretty comfy.

My Mum's trick with a new bed was for the first 24 hours stop the cat from going near it, every time they try to get on it she would shoo them off. Guaranteed next day, the cat was on it and wouldn't get off. Cats love to be on what they shouldn't!!!

A snuggle ballis a bed that looks kinda like a bean bag chair (cept it's stuffing filled, and not bean filled).... I chose the lambswool one, but they're also making ones out of microfiber now... I thought he'd LOVE it since he loves my bean bag chair, but it sure took him awhile to get into it!

Here it is on Foster and Smith... they call it a slumber ball, I call it a snuggle ball!

The microfiber one

Here's the Berber Deluxe one

He jumped out of it for some tuna since I made some for a snack and he smelled it, but he got right back in afterwards! I'm so happy cuz the boyfriend and I have tried so hard to get him to use it!

That's too cute. I might get one. Alcott really has a thing for crawling under blankets though, not lying on top, so maybe its not for him....

Now if only they'd make one out of fleece! Josie doesn't like her lambs wool bed I got her. She's not a lap cat, but has to be in my lap when I have fleece pants on though.

Haha, that's cute... maybe if you're any good at sewing, you could make a fleece slip cover? (or just make your own snuggle ball... the fleece and stuffing are prolly cheaper than buying one anyhow!)

Oh my goodness -- I have been tempted to get a snuggle ball as well as a million other things in the Doctor Fosters and Smith catalogue. I get a catalogue every month, and even though each catalogue displays pretty much the same items I always comb through it!

Reason I haven't yet bought the slumber/ snuggle ball is because my cats already have two cat pillows, one "puffy kitty nest," two cat perches, and two cat igloos. Oh yes, and they also have two cat trees. Think they're a bit spoiled?
