Dear Members,

As much as any member deserves a public pat on the back for a job well done, we are asking that you relay your gratitude via PM. We have never encouraged threads addressed to one member on the boards.

Also remember that sometimes by posting to one person, others may actually feel left out.

As all of you know, this site is heavily trafficked, especially the Lounge, and it's tough for moderators to be able to go through all threads as it is. Keeping messages to one individual to the PM system will help the moderators do their jobs more effectively.

Thanks.

Fair enough I guess - what about if we have a thank you thread with pictures? say if we were wanting to show off something that another member gave us?

Neither of those are "thank you" threads, so they are okay.

So the answer is no we can't have a thread with pictures of something that a member gave us? or can we, but only if we don't slip the words 'thank you' in there?

Sam if someone sends you something privately- you thank them privately. Any type of thread regarding only two people is to be kept to PM's. It is that simple. There is no need to make it complicated because it isn't. Some people are reporting they feel left out of things- feeling like an outsider here as if they don't belong. Everyone belongs who can follow the guidelines of these forums and no one should feel bad because other people don't happen to notice them right away.

Candie, bumping is now only a moderator action. To many people were bumping threads that were not that important, causing others to complain that important threads were being pushed down to the bottom of the forum. So the bumping smilie was deleted and bumping became a moderator action-

i would have thought thankyou threads would have been enjoyed by everyone, it was one of those things that made these forums different from the others
plus, it never made me feel left out, only happy for the person involved.
