What's the age difference between Milo and Pixie?

It was the same with Peter. He came from a litter of seven. All of the kittens were adorable, but I knew the first time I saw him that he was meant to be mine. It will happen for you too!

The only thing I'm worried about is Harley...I'm in love with Barley (1st pic) but I'm afraid he's gonna be an older cat, how much older should I go? Or should I stay around Harley's age, 2 months?

Pixie is a year and a half older than Milo. It took some adjustment, but I knew Pixie was bored at home by herself after living with 2 other cats and a dog.

When I brought Pixie home, my roommate's cat (around 5) and her cat (around 6) were actually pretty cool with her. Some hissing and barking from the dog, but all in all they got along pretty quickly. Same thing when the last roommate brought home her kitten.

Oh and kittens usually adjust easily to other cats and older cats often adjust better to kittens (from my experience).

So you think even if I do get an older cat, they should adjust pretty well?
I get so confused and I just want to bring the new cat into an environment where he/she will adjust well

It'll take a little time no matter how old the new kitty is, but I don't think you should limit yourself to kittens if you want an older kitty. More people need to adopt older kitties! But do what you think is right.

Have fun!

Oh I'm definately not going to limit myself, I just wanted to know how an older cat would adjust with a baby around, Harley is such a terror sometimes, I just want to make sure that the new one adjusts okay with him! I kinda want an older cat!

I think that if you get an older cat that is playful they may get along. I've not had a lot of kittens, so it's hard for me to say.

I dont really wanna go thru the whole 'kitty' stage again, I really want a cat that is already fixed and is well behaved....I know I'll go in there and want them all, haha!

At least now I am not so concerned about getting an older cat, hopefully I will be able to find one that is compatable to Harley....high strung!!

Thanks for all of your guy's advice, I

Cable was 8 months old when Java came to us... i think as long as you get a fairly young cat (up to 2 years) they'll be able to keep up with Harley. Pixel was very relieved when i got Java because Cable was just too active for her, but she was 7 years old. can't wait to see pix of whomever you choose!

Unfortunately, we never made it to the Humane Society. My BF is in the process of getting a new car (2006 SS Supercharged Cobolt...) so we had to go and sign papers for that right after work cuz we're both so excited about getting it!!
So...hopefully...tonight will be the night! I was so upset last night that by time we were finished with the sales department, the Humane Society was closed
I was so mad cuz after the horrible day that I had with customers, I really wanted to go and pick out a new kitten....but that didn't happen, I was so mad that I even cried (
) don't ask why that made me cry, but after my horrible day, thats all I was looking forward to and I couldn't even go!
But thank goodness tomorrow is Saturday, I hope to GOD that I can go then!!

I'm so dissapointed, I really wanted to show you my new baby today!!

I went through that when I was in the process of getting my new kitties too, the whole emotional, crying, disappointed, oh-god-i-need-that-kitten-right-now thing. so unless i'm entirely strange, it's pretty normal.

<looks around for comments on her being strange>
yeah. what i thought.

can't wait to see pics of your new kitty.
good luck at the humane society

How much is the adoption fee around your guys' area? Or is it pretty much all the same?

Where I'm at, adoption fees for kittens is higher than adults. I think it's about $95 for kittens, $75 for adults, and sometimes they give you a break on seniors.

I LOVE being in the process of getting a new kitty!!! How fun.

Well here, its $85.00 for mix breed animals and $125 for purebred, thats what it says on the website at least... I was just curious as to what it was at other places....if it was higher or lower.

I'm just in love with Barley, what a sweetheart!
Their all just adorable and I'm sure the right one will fit in with Harley no matter what age he may be. Good luck!

I know how exciting it is! I had the same thing happen when I wanted to go get my first cat. I was so excited about going on the Saturday and then the friend who was supposed to give me a ride had something else come up. I did cry too.
Fortunately, I did get to go the next day and got my sweet little Joshua.

Just make sure to not go there right before they close. Both time I went to the humane society, it took me over an hour to choose a cat. The second time, it was getting close to closing time and I just didn't want to leave without a cat. There were two I really wanted but I could only take one so I had to pick in a hurry.
Never regretted my choice though.

I just wished I had had more time so I wouldn't have been so stressed about choosing.
