Hi,well i woke up this morning and found sick all over the floor,im just guessing that its freda because shes vomited before. But when i came home again today there was more vomit.I fed freda again earlier and shes managed to keep it down this time but should i be worried about this? She is an old girl but seems perfectly fine and sits purring away but you cant be to careful with these things. She gets very very stressed going to the vets and last time had a "accident" in the carrying basket on the way there and she makes a strange panting noise.Should i wait and see if she manages to get some more food down and give her another day or should i do something about it now? I know cats do be sick sometimes its just with her being so old and i couldnt bare to lose her. Any help would be appreciated.

I know this is kind of gross, but can you describe the vomit? Were there undigested particles, or mostly liquid? Is it possible she ate something she shouldn't have, like a chemical or a plant? I would keep an eye on her. If she is unable to keep food down, tonight, get her to a vet, as the lack of food can be dangerous too.

By the way, my cat also pants on car rides sometimes. You might experiment with taking a different route to see if that reduces her stress. Spot tended to get stressed at the same spot in the road every time, so I'm trying a different route. Also, you might try taking your kitties for short car rides and giving them treats when you return so they don't always associate the car with the vet.

She needs to be checked out by the vet. Cats can get dehydrated very easily by too much vomiting. Dehydration can lead to more serious problems like kidney damage. I wouldn't wait.

You can try elevating her food. Like on a phone book or something around the same height. See if that helps.

I have to do this for Roo because she was vomiting her food and it's been working very well for her.

Thanx for replying everyone, well so far she hasnt been sick again so im hoping that will be the end of it. If she is sick again i will take her to the vet.I didnt actually look at her vomit because that makes me ill. But anyway she seems a bit better. I should try to make her car journeys a bit more pleasant for her.

My cat gets stressed in car-rides too. She'll pant, and then she'll meow at me in a scolding tone. She'll calm down if I sing to her though, meows less and no panting. You could try talking to her or humming a tune...

Treats and short car-rides to pleasant destinations every now and then shd also alleviate her fear of car rides.
