Maggie is our 3 year old cat who drinks a ton of water (always has, no health problems) but she also loves LOVES contact lens solution, and popcicles, and peanut butter, and other things cats are not supposed to like, but tonite, I was having some Grape Gatorade, and Maggie, being Mags, wanted some. Is it OK for cats to drink Gatorade? She didnt drink a ton, but she did drink a fair amount....

It would be the additives (colourings, flavourings) that would be bad for her. Otherwise its just water, electrolytes and sugar!

The common thread to all the things she likes (esp the popcicles, peanut butter....and many more) seem to be sugar. I have never asked her Vet if this is an issue, but she didnt think it was a good idea to let her drink the contact lens solution....She is a character -our Magoo!

Gatorade is very hard on our teeth (worse than a cola), so I am assuming it would be for cats too.

I don't let my cats drink anything but water, then maybe the odd cat milk thing, as a treat.. Gordito will everyonce in awhile drink from an unattended cup of juice or coffee though

I don't think its very healthy for the cat to be drinking stuff with so much sugar in it.
