Ivory, my special needs baby, has an issue with her nose.
To put it bluntly, she gets crusty boogies several times daily.

I'm sure she's quite fed up with the face washing several times a day and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for keeping the crusties from sticking so hard?

I've a tried little olive oil, she just licks it off and doesn't help.
I'm hesitatant to try much because of possible ingestion dangers.

I'm just not sure, it's petroleum based.
Was actually considering carmex, I just don't know how effective/safe it would be.

I take it petroleum is not good for cats?? Even in such a tiny amount? Although I guess they would be licking their nose trying to figure out what was on there.

i think the olive oil is the best choice, of those suggested. petroleum based products, like vaseline & carmex (which also has something smelly in it like menthol) can cause a laxative effect. i'd moisten a paper towel or washcloth with the olive oil & just put on a thin coat. she's still probably going to wash it, though. i've never dealt with any boogies, eye or nose, that stuck that hard - except when Pixel's having a herpes flare-up.
