....under the stove anymore. :-)
My hubby cut me a piece of wood 1"x1" around ,and 30 " long to put under the front edge of the oven ,along the floor ,as the cat is always losing his toy balls under there. To keep it in place, he cut a couple little slits partway through it where the screw-type "legs " of the stove are....so it sort of snaps into place. I painted the wood black to match the front of the stove...and it just looks like a part of it. WA-LA! No more ball retrieving , all bent over with the broom as a fishing stick.
I`m sure you could also use a round wooden dowel instead ....available at any hardware or lumber supply place.

I had to look
just like, I am sure, everyone else did
! It's an ongoing problem to be sure. Mine keep losing their balls under the bookcases, and also the microwave cabinet in the kitchen, the dresser in the bedroom, in short ANYthing that they'll fit under! Plus there seems to be a sort of an eddy by the front door since I picked up six assorted balls (crinkle, super, bell) from there the other day when I cleaned up.

I'll have to keep this in mind. In the meantime, I'm chief ball retriever (and they said we couldn't be trained
!)

It caught my eye right away, too.

I'll have to try that! Forest
LOVES
his pouffy balls and is forever losing them under the furniture. He has dozens and dozens of them, but when the supply starts dwindling we go on a "pouffy ball safari" to fish them all out with the Swiffer. Now whenever Forest sees the Swiffer coming out he gets all excited and runs over to await the balls! (He gets SO disappointed if I'm acutally cleaning with it.)

In the absence of a made-to-measure piece of wood, the cardboard tube from a roll of giftwrap does a fine job. Yours undoubtedly looks nicer, though!

That`s funny Teri...I know what you mean. Toby gets excited when he sees the broom too.

Dax has so many balls
- we have lost most of them around the place.

The MIL called us and said she was cleaning, (she babysat Dax while we went camping) and she thought she found a dead mouse under the television cabinet - on closer inspection it was one of Dax's missing rat toys

When I moved out of my apt I had had my cats a year and a half- I found about 15 cat toys in the process! Not to mention all of the milk cap tags!!

too funny.......not what I thought it was about.
I like the idea though.....our dog loses her balls under our stove and our cart we have between our stove and :censor::censor::censor::censor: all the time......call me a retriever.
Having hubby build something like that would be a big help.
