My two kitties seem to be perfectly healthy, but I'm wondering if I should be a little conerned that they aren't eating enough. I'm wondering if they are ignoring their kibble hoping to get more wet food? I leave dry kibble out for them at all times, and feed them wet each evening. Lately they've only been eating about half a cup of Nutro kitten food and either one pouch or can of wet food each day. This is for both of them together, not each individually. It seems like so little! But they seem to keep gaining weight and are very active and happy. They're just over 5 months old.

I have to ask the vet when I go in to have Henry's stiches taken out...they were over 5 lbs at their last visit so I'm guessing maybe between 6 and 7 lbs now...I picked them up and weighed on my scale but they were a little wiggly so I'm not sure how accurate that is.

That doesn't seem like too little eh? Seems like such a small amount to me but these are my first kitties so I really have no idea!

My Kandie was a 14 lb er in her prime and ate about 3/4 cup a day plus one to two cans...

Zoey is 11 plus and at 19 months aint done growing eats about 1 to 1 and half cups of dry plus about a 3 oz canned / homade raw...

Yours two seem to be at the right leval.. I have NC kitten in the house it says for there wt and age about 1/2 cup per day , this doesnt take into account the canned ... so in my humble opinion they are eating just fine

On the Nutro bag it says to feed them a half a cup each twice a day. I feed my guys a surving of wet food in the morning and a half a cup of food at night each. And they tend to leave some of the dry food till the next day. And they are as healthy as can be, I don't think you have to worry. When you feed them good cat food, they tend to not need much to keep them healthy. But if it makes you feel better, ask your vet. Better safe then sorry. :-)

It sounds like they are doing fine. Five pounds at 5 months old is pretty much exactly average so that is a good sign that they are eating as they should.
