So, my sister-in-law (hubby's only sibling) is getting married this coming weekend, so I had to grab some last minute stuff to finish off my wedding ensemble (thank god she didn't make me a bridesmaid!)
I needed: black shoes, a dressy black purse, and some sort of little shawl or sweater to cover up with since the ceremony will be outside, so long as it doesn't rain.
Found a pair of satin dress pumps with a peep-toe--and actual cushioning on the inside--on sale for $69, not bad

Found a cute cropped silk cardigan with a hook and eye closure, dressy but simple enough that I'll wear it again--again, $69, not too bad since it's 80% silk

But, the piece de resistance:
Found a satin dressy clutch with a cute kisslock clasp at Lord and Taylor...opened it up to look at the price tag--$115! No way!

Went down the mall to the Aldo accessory boutique, found a virtually identical purse-- $19.99!!!!

Even my husband was proud of me!

Then, we had dinner at PF Changs for 20 bucks! I am ON FIRE today!!!

Just had to share!

Share YOUR best bargain purchases!

Way to go, girl!
I haven't done any bargain shopping lately, unfortunately. The best bargains I've experienced for awhile have been at the grocery store. How sad is that?

Kohl's is the best!
The secret to PF Changs is to just order a bunch of appetizers and share--the entrees are good but I think the appetizers are the best part, and they're cheap!
We shared lettuce wraps, crab wontons, and an enormous bowl of wonton soup and it was just the right amount of food!

Unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the
New clothes are a pretty rare purchase for me. I usually buy used. Most of my favorite clothes I got used for around $5 a piece. And you'd never guess that I wear used clothes.
You can find some amazing deals at used clothing stores if you're patient. One time I bought some Hush Puppy shoes, really nice ones, looked brand new for $12.

Last week, I was shopping for an umbrella at Sears. I decided to buy one that was on sale for $14.99... really nice and very light (made with fibreglass) When I went to pay for it, the scanned price was $4.99

I also got my 3 pairs of jeans at Sears. All the same cut and size (can you tell I HATE shopping for pants?). The first one I got for $20 on sale. A few months later, I went back to see if they had any more. They did, but now they were on liquidation for $10 each. So I bought two. It was a great deal especially considering how hard it is for me to find jeans that fit right!

we have a chain of stores down here in the south called Hudson's They have 2 different kinds of stores-- one is Hudson's ( salvage center) and the other is Hudson's Dirt Cheap-- we have a dirt cheap down the road from us-- Stuff that doesnt sell at Hudson's goes to Dirt Cheap stores and is marked down every 2-5 days to a final markdown of 90 % -- i go there at least once a week and if tehres something i want ill go 2 or 3 times per week until they mark it down to what im willing to pay (usually 75-90%) right now they have a ton of home furnishings and TEAK patio furniture and fabric patio umbrellas and such. They have solid cherry HUGE entertainment centers for 50 bucks right now. a couple have some exterior blemishes but nothing you cant fix or cover up. Just depends on how much time and effort you want to spend. They alse get electronics and stuff from stores that are closing. You can pick up some awesome deals there if you are diligent and dont mind getting dirty looking through stuff. Its one of my favorite stores. Their inventory changes almost daily.

Yay, fellow bargain hunters!

You really did get some bargains there - I bet you'll look great at the wedding too!

Some of my best bargains have been for a couple of pound! I bought a brand new pair of Betty Jackson cords for £1.50 from a charity shop and the other week, I got two 'posh' (it said this on the lable) t-shirts, 70% off and buy one get one free - I paid £1.25!!!!! I was so chuffed with myself!

Almost fainted with them in my hands. Did the b-line for the cash register with them tucked under my arm like a football and other hand stretched straight out in front of me to knock people out of the way

I love bargains. Twice As Nice and Buffalo Exchange consignment shoops are among my favorite haunts. Kohl's doesn't really impress me, though. I've yet to find anything, that I like, at a price that I want to pay.

Ross is hit or miss. Depending upon which local store I hit, I MAY or may not find something good. A week or so ago, I got a nice pair of no-wale corduroys and a sequined top, for me, dresses for the twins and spent under $50. Last year, I got purple Steve Madden sneakers for $12.99.

Since Isaac Mizrahi started designing for Target, I've gotten several nice things there. For work, I buy men's Legendary Gold khakis, for $9-10.

If you're looking for jeans that fit well, try Newport News. They have them in several different cuts and a good color selection.
