What are anyones take on Merrick brand? Sure looks yummy from the picks. I am going to be giving the dogs a can of their wet tonight to see how they like it. Alot of fellow Basset owners like it.

They also have a cat line. any opinions?

We've been feeding 5 of our 6 cats Merrick's canned cat food for about 4 months....they love it and seem to be doing very well on it - soft shiny fur, no digestive issues. They eat a 100% canned food diet and so far seem to like this the best; however, I am inclined to believe it's a good idea to rotate brands on occasion for variety and possibly allergy prevention. We only use the poultry flavors...Grammy's Pot Pie, TurDuckEn, and Thanksgiving Day dinner.

The ingredients look good...and what I like about it is that you can actually see what you're feeding your babies to a large degree...it doesn't have that scary weird pate texture. My cats won't eat it, but they are incredibly picky.

Pixie loves the Merrick food, but she only gets it rarely as a gourmet treat. I know there are a lot of people who believe wet only is best, but to be honest I can't afford that. Merrick is one of the pricier foods that I've seen and not all that readily available in my area.

My cats like it. It's a little too pricey for my budget but I do get it for them as a treat once in a while.

One cat likes it ... The dog told me they changed some of the dog by not eating it anymore...lol... I found a few miles makes it more affordable... one store has 3 oz cans for 1.29 if I got the ther way and five more miles I get 6oz or 5.5 for 97cents..

Glad to see good reports on it. I may have to try it with my dogs too. I had sticker shock today when I bought a case for the dogs, LOL but they softened the blow by giving me a free bag of dry..not that I will use it. I am happy with my dry food LOL but free is free.

I've given it to Abby a few times and she enjoys it . Her favorite is the New England Boiled Dinner.

The texture is not pate, it's chunky.. you can actually see the individual ingredients. Aphro's faves are Turduckden, Cowboy Cookout, and Grammy's Pot Pie.

I feed it to my dog Sam and both cats Ellie and Smokey.

Sam's favorite is Grammy's Pot Pie, and Wilderness Blend (then again Sam eats anything LOL, but when I give him one of these, I keep finding him relicking the bowl later on.

Ellie loves New England Boil, and Smokeys loves Surf & Turf, and Grammy's Pot Pie.

I am very happy I found it (they sell it at Sam's doggy daycare for $1.89 great deal compared to the website). Before using that I was buying "Prairie Brand Venison" it also comes in rabbit, duck, chicken and turkey (venison was $3.50 can, and the others range from $2.50 - $3.25). I was not sure how this food was, but after finding out you know I am happy, so is my wallet. LOL

It's always nice to get something free, but a lot better when you can use it.

Hopefully you find some use for it.

I have used Merrick (all dog versions) quite a bit. My husband gets free samples by the case of 40-80 lbs. The dogs absolutely hate it. I thought it was such a neat idea how it turns to gravy, but it doesn't account for smell and taste I suppose.

I haven't tried the cat version or a canned version, but I wouldn't have much higher expectations personally.

I have never used the dry version. I use Innova (dry) and I add 1/3 can of the Merrick to it. I don't like the concept of dry and adding water to make a gravy, that does not sound good at all (to me).
