How do they push your buttons?

We all love our kitties, we know that, but what's that one little annoying thing that your cat does to push your buttons (like any kid would do)?

For me, it's when Milo deliberately walks around bumping into or rubbing up against my chairs and little table and moving them. Then I have to get up and move them back and he does it all over again. It's just one of those things he does all the time and I find a bit annoying.

Sara will pull tissues straight up out of the box and throw it on the floor and get another. And both of them will sit at my little trash can and lean into it, trying to find something to play with or eat.
I will them them no, and they will sit there and look at my while they do it.
I have came home to half a box of tissues on the floor, and trash on the floor.
It is so cute, but at the same time it irritates the hell out of me.

Rowan has taken to waking me up at 6:30... then 8:30 and if I try to fall asleep again, she bites me, even if I have already gotten up to feed her. >.<

I was up 'til 4 am. ;_; need more than 4 hrs sleep!

*chucks Rowan out the window*

That reminds me of another thing my two do. They will run around starting at around 7 a.m. (not too bad - I know) just to wake me up. If I ignore them, they'll keep running. As soon as I sit up and turn the lights on, they will both go back to sleep!!!! Pains in the butt they both are!!!

Sylvester loves to sleep under the covers, unfortunately she lets me know this by trying to dig them up herself, often missing and scratching at my FACE instead. More annoying however, is when I am NOT in bed OR under covers and she tries to get under my shirt by digging at my chest. It's... strange...

Reilly will take his food out of the bowl and drop it on my freshly washed floor

Oliver is obsessed with faucet water, and he wants it allllllllllllll the time. So, he follows me around and begs for it like a little whiny brat all day long!

Josie decided she likes her food wet instead of dry. So, she splashes water from her water bowl into her food bowl to make it wet. It leaves a sopping wet mess on my floor all the time.

Emmet knocks over the waterdish....which is huge!!!!!!!!! so the floor gets soaked....he likes watching the river of water.......He also likes waking me up by kneeding my bladder....eeek

Poppy whines like crazy while I am getting the kits food....like Im not feeding her

Doofus knocks everything over....ecspecially in the middle of the night...so i jump out of bed terrified....my heart racing like crazy....oh and he has to be the first to go to the bathroom in each freshly cleaned litter box.....if he isnt he wont use that box that week.......freekin wierdo

Mabby likes to poop in the tub when she doesnt get her way....or when she feels her 3 litter boxes are not clean to her liking.....

Oh and Mabby and Poppy serve themselves....they grab there food out of thier dishes and then eat it off the floor.....so i am constantly sweeping up around their food dishes

Harley likes to do everything to be a terror!!

His favorite, I swear, is throwing his litter outside his liter box, making a huge mess on my floor, and then getting litter in his food bowl (they are close to eachother) and then he wont eat his food if it has that in it, so he sits there and cries until I take out the litter.

Oh, I think his favorite is waking me up at 4AM everyday, yes, everyday, not kidding, and biting my nose to wake me up and wanting to play. Come on, its 4AM!!

He is the king and we are his slaves!

I think it is adorable, till I am walking through the house wearing socks and I step in a puddle of water. And Chloe is sitting across the room staring at me as a I curse the whole way to the laundry room. I know she is quietly laughing at me... Brat!

I have one that does this too!
Evalynn comes to bed with me every night, but she doesn't just lay down. She walks all over my chest!! Ouch!!!

Ha ha! Of course she's laughing at you - you are just a mere human after all!
Wiggies likes to pull his water bowl off the mat and spill water everywhere. They both like to drop things in and fish them out again. I'm thinking of getting them an aquarium (just kidding)!

The main thing Smidge does to annoy me - and, yes, she IS doing it on purpose - is walk on the dining room table. She perches, then waits to make sure I see her before she struts across. I dont have many rules, but that is a firm one - NO cat on the dining room table! She'll do it like 20 xs in a row too. I'll be doing something else and keep getting up saying NO!, she gets off, I sit down, she gets up again, I get up, and so on...

Ha ha. These are great.

It's not really annoying, but when we cuddle at night, Josie sits down with her butt in my face. I found out this is how cats identify the momma cat and they do this for cleaning and inspection. Granted, I'm not going to clean or inspect her butt, but I like to know she calls me her momma cat.

Hobbes loves to push the envelope on what he can and can't do. He knows what his bounderies are, but for some reason tries to get away with things anyway. I would say that's our chief thing that just pushes our buttons with him!

As far as Sunny...well, she can be quite obstinent sometimes. If we see her doing something she shouldn't be, we tell her no, and can tell her literally about ten times, and she'll just sit there, in the middle of being naughty, and not leave whatever it is alone. For instance, if she jumps up somewhere she's not allowed (and VERY well knows it) and we tell her to get down, she'll just stand there (as if we'll forget she's there), and we have to totally get up and start coming over for her to jump down like we've asked. It gets just REALLY too much sometimes.

Overall, we have very wonderful kitties...but I think all kitties have SOMETHING that they love to do to cause an effect on their humans.

Not to pry, but have you tried velcro-ing the bowl to the floor? Our Sunny did the same thing, and we had to find some pretty strong velcro to put on the bowl (and match to the floor), so she couldn't tip it anymore. After about six months of her realizing she couldn't, we took it off, and she didn't realize it...she hasn't even tried because she thinks it's still there.

Just a thought...

Samwise likes to decide when I'm going to get up...his favorite time is around 2am on Saturday, he doesn't do that the rest of the week prefering to sleep in until 6:30 when the alarm goes off but every Saturday without fail, I have Samwise crying at the top of his lungs.

Gandalf on the other hand refuses to bury anything in the litter box which gets quite stinky but on top of it likes to stratch whatever available surfaces surrounds the litter box. I have two cover litter boxes and one uncovered...he scratches the wall next to the uncovered which means, I'm either replacing it with a covered box or getting rid of it, I haven't decided yet.

When she sits on my lap and rips the buttons off my shirt. hehe...thats like one step ahead of pushing my buttons.

Anyway, apart from that when she jumps on my study table and attacks my books. Till now she has torn a couple of books already. I gotta start training her soon and also keep my books in my drawer.

These are hilarious!

My kitties are very good at pushing my buttons some days. Lucky is my big talker and she would drive me nuts by going downstairs and crying and crying and when you would go to see what was wrong she would be all happy like "oh there you are" duh! Now she's taught rambo to do that too...so they will both go charging into the basement and then cry and cry and cry until i come and find them. And then they'll go back to playing!

I hang my socks to dry on the radiators, and Alfie and I had a game last week of seeing who could put them up/pull them off quicker. We were sat side by side, and each time I put the sock on the radiator, he reached up and clawed it back onto the floor - this went on for ages!

Alfie also knows not to scratch the sofa, and I know he knows it's not a scratching post because he only does it to get my attention, and as soon as I look round he legs it off in full on psycho kittie mode!

Max is a little sweetie

Oh yes, I have the drying clothes issue too ! while I'm hanging them up, kiki pulls them off the clothes horse. If I've hung the washing up the night before, I'll get up the next mornign to find half of it on the floor !

Also, whenever I replace the cat litter, kiki comes along and uses it straight away. Every single time ! she hangs around me until I put the tray back down and the second it's on the floor, she's in it !

When they start playing chase games, all previously learned house rules go out the window. They tear down the stairs, leap onto and off of furniture- including furniture I'm on, occasionally landing me with a cat to the stomach and knocking the wind out of me for the millisecond he's there. They also dart onto and off of furniture. For a college student, I have some really nice items- including a signed 1st edition of the second Harry Potter book. They knocked it off the small bookcase its on, along with the bookends, and one of the bookends put a big long paint scratch on one of the cover pages. True, its not the signed page, but now the book isn't mint. Sigh. My bitter consolation was that the bookend also hit his paw and now he lives in fear of the bookcase.

Marat will dig in the litter box when he needs to pee until he gets to the very bottom, then pee. When he covers it back up with litter, it then forms a sheet of cat litter cemented to the litter box. I have tried different litters and different amounts of it, thinking if he has more he won't do this. But every time he goes, he excavates all the litter out, no matter how much, and does the same thing. I threaten to take him back to petsmart and put him back in the glass box for adoption where I got him, but he knows I'm bluffing.
