Four and half months ago, our cat Pepsi had kittens. I found a home for one through work, but we haven't found homes for the other four. Frankly, I haven't looked. I'd prefer to place them with people I know so I can be sure they are taken care of ... and so I could still see them sometimes. But none of our friends or relatives wanted one. So now I'm placing ads on Petfinder for the rest of them.

I know we need to find homes for them. We already have four adult cats, indoor only. But this is breaking my heart. I don't want them to go.

Thanks. I hope so. They are just all so sweet and love people so much. (They've been handled from the time they were born, basically.) I hope I haven't waited too long to find them good homes.

Have you given it any thought to placing an ad in the local newspaper. I've had much success with that in the past. I screened the potential owners pretty well and in fact Several people ended up with more than one cat at some point. I would have people call me to ask if I had litters available. All my cats have been spayed for some time now and I don't advocate this method if you are uncomfortable. Perhaps you have friends who are petowners that they my know someone!!

Make sure you get her spayed so no more kittens are born. Thats a start and I hope they find good homes. Ask family and friends, and mabye your family and friends can ask there friends as well.

Yes this is an idea, but please be careful. very careful depending on your neighborhood and community. Ads in newspapers that offer kittens "Free to good home" are notoriously monitored by Laboritories and Reptile owners. Labs will pay upwards of $40 per kitten for their research and you dont want to think what someone with a 8' python would do to that sweet little kitten to save on buying feeder mice. no im not exagerating.
But yes PLEASE Please have your kitties spayed/neutored. if $$ is difficult, please visit http://www.lovethatcat.com/spayneuter.html and hopefully there will be someone close who can make this a more affordable option.

Awww. I know how hard it is.
I had to find homes for 7. But when you see the look on the faces of those who adopt, (and I took going away photos), it feels great.

That is the situation that I am hoping & praying for, for you, too! It is SO difficult because kittens are so vulnerable! The last kits that I placed had a happy ending - two college girl roommates adopted one & then came back with their roommate to select another as a playmate for the first. They used the my vet, and the reports were good! The kittens got their shots, neutered & the vet told me that the kittens were just thriving! The last 3 of the litter, I kept myself, because my ShepX dog that had helped raise them, was just too frantic over giving away the first 2.
