I'm so happy you found it!!

I've never lost my wedding ring, or any other ring, by misplacing them. However, I did have 4 rings with a huge sentimental value stolen in a burglary three years ago.

I always like stories with happy endings. I lost my wedding ring once. Well, it was not really lost, but it could have been. My husband and I were coming into the boat dock. The weather was rough and we had been out to fish some nets. It was so bad we put nets, fish and all in the boat and were going to take out the fish at the dock. So coming into the dock, I went to take off my ring to save it from getting fishy and it plopped overboard. We were at the dock and the ring fell in about two feet of water.
I was crying and my poor husband was trying to figure what to do when we heard a boat coming from up the creek. That meant we had just a few minutes to find the ring or it would be washed around by the other boat coming by. My husband laid down flat on the dock, stuck his head as close to the water as he could, looked very hard, stuck his hand in the water and said HERE IT IS. I still think it was a miracle.

I'm sure you're more glad than I am that you found it, but I am very glad you did.

I should have just gone and put them where I always do.
I have learned through hard experience that when the thought goes through my head, "I'll just put it here to be sure to remember where it is" or something like it that that is a sure sign I should NOT put it wherever I was thinking of putting it, as I most certainly will not be able to find it later.
As far as wedding rings go, yes, I've misplaced mine a few times. Gotta love the panic that brings on. So a big gratz on finding your ring.

What you said about your original wedding ring struck home with me. I have a white gold set with several small diamonds. It wasn't very expensive (as far as rings go, anyway), and Shawn said something a few years ago about getting me a nicer one. I told him even if he bought me a full carat diamond in a platinum setting, that—though of course I would treasure it—my original wedding ring would always mean more to me and would remain in its place on the ring finger of my left hand. It's the original symbol of our union, the unbroken circle of love and committment.

YAY!! I'm so glad you found it Mary Anne!! I've got to learn not to ever put anything "where I won't lose it/for safekeeping". It never fails that if I do that, I WILL lose it!

I haven't lost my ring, but I can't wear it either.
I have very sensitive skin, and while the gold itself doesn't bother me, if I get any moisture underneath the ring I get a rash. Earl has lost his ring, though. Well, lost is a strong word. He always took it off at his computer desk and put it inside the band of his watch. One morning it wasn't there. We figure a kitty thought it would be neat to play with. It's around, I'm sure we'll find it when we move.

Wow, what an interesting thread! Hissy, I am so glad you found your ring! Can you post a pic of it, since it sounds so beautiful?!?

I never lost my wedding ring, but lost a promise ring from my now ex-husband. I lost it when I lived with my parents, before getting married. Then I found it in some folded clothes in their basement about 7 years later, when I lived with them after the divorce! I meant to save it for my oldest dd, but have no idea where it is now. I think I did finally give it to her, but doubt if she still has it. (She is not very close to her Dad.)

DH lost his wedding ring. It was kind of loose on his finger, and one day when shoveling manure in the barn, it must have slipped off. He noticed when he got into the house, but though we did our best to search the barn and manure pile, we never found it! We did buy him a much nicer wedding band. Tomorrow is our 12th anniversary! And that first ring is buried pretty deep in manure by now!

Thanks, Hissy. I don't really miss the first ring. He was a diesel mechanic when we met, and the ring ended up very worn out. Once, it almost took his finger off in an accident, because the edges were so worn it was almost sharp! (I'm kinda glad it is gone!) His new one is very thick and rounded on the edges, so less likely to injure him.

The lost has been found!! Excellent! So glad to hear that, MA. I can't imagine the panic I'd feel if I ever lost my rings.

I know this has been resolved, but I lost the stone out of my engagement ring. Don't know what became of it. Noticed it was missing in the car one day on the way up to the beach. *sigh*. I was upset but decided that I couldn't dwell on it. We replaced it with a slight bigger one and a new setting.

My mom lost hers once and found it again a year later. She was in the bathroom and took it off to was her hands. She dropped it on the tile and heard a pling. We looked down the toilet and went through the whole bathroom. Nothing. One day a year later my dad was in the bathroom and conteplating what had happened. He felt under the toe space on the bathroom sink and realized that there was a open area on top it could have got in. He sawed it open and there it was! It had to have bounced at a certain angle. Very strange indeed.

Glad you found it!!
A couple of yrs ago I was taking the dirty laundry out of the hamper and I do not know what possesed me to look at my ring and I noticed the stone was missing. I felt around the bathroom floor and found it!!
Just and FYI I was informed by the jeweler that did the repaid to have your wedding ring (if you can remove it) inspected once a year as in my case a prong broke off.
Especially if the ring is older and you wear it all the time.
But 20 yrs ago when we were in the Virgin Islands on our honeymoon Neil saved a man who inhaled too much salt water. That same man lost his wedding band in the ocean and Neil found it in the water!!
