This is just a general warning about anything like this, where it can be very precise if you choose to do so.

Please realize that this map is available to anyone looking at this Public forum. Please realize that you do not know everyone who could be looking at this map, and that some of those people may have less than ideal intentions.

My suggestion, as a moderator and concerned member of this forum, is that if you want to participate in this map thing, do not be precise. Put your marker in the vicinity of the area where you live. Don't use your full name that could be looked up in a phone book. And if you already have or decide to put a precise marker on your home, don't advertise it in the thread. You just never know who could be looking at the internet, and security and safety should never be compromised. You wouldn't scream your address and phone number on a bus crowded with strangers, don't do the equivalent online (with possibly millions of strangers having access).

If anyone wants to change anything in the map, please send me a pm. Then I will do it. Thanks

The map is interesting, but... the satellite photos in some instances show the exact location of your home, and I wonder how many members want that to be public knowledge? TCS has over 12,000 members, and the "guests" far outnumber them. Please protect your private sphere!
