WHAT does your Significant Other do that annoys you? You know what I'm talking about, not the relationship breaking types of things, but the sorts of things that you just grit your teeth and say "I wish s/he would/would not do _____" (fill in the blank) and then get past it as you roll your eyes and sigh *sigh*
.

For me, it's WHY is it so hard to CLOSE the darn medicine cabinet??? and WHY is it so HARD to pick up the clothes you just took off and put them in the clothes hamper? I really could do without picking them up OFF THE FLOOR and putting them in there for you, yes?

Just wondering
!

He did this the other day- tarred the new roof then threw his jeans in the washer and the dryer! I had to get on my knees and scrub out the dryer drum with an SOS pad- he wanted to clean it with gasoline!
When it comes to that type of domestic chore, he never thinks. But he is great for all other projects outside or involving the tractors, or the vehicles

Oh, wow...where to start?

My hubby also has the inability to get clothes to the hamper. He is also unable to make a sandwich without dirtying at least 4 things...I don't know how he does it, but he does, plus, there will be crumbs all over the counter.
He will also "forget" or "didn't realize" that the gas tank was near "E" when he came home from work...which I'm supposed to "deal with and get over it", but let me do that to him, and well, we all know the rest, don't we?

He is totally incapable of changing the toilet paper.

Thank God he doesn't come on here...I'd hate to see what he'd have to say about me!

Cindy, are you sure our SOs are not the same guy?
Bradley is really bad about taking a shower and leaving his dirty boxer shorts on the bathroom floor. That is ESPECIALLY not fun when he's been on the boat all day and his drawers smell like raw fish
.

But, if that's all I have to complain about, I consider myself pretty dern lucky

Ummmm, I think it's a "male" thing
. I finally solved the problem by putting a laundry basket in the spot where he had the tendency to throw dirty clothes ... rather like putting a litter box where the cat wants to go anyway, yes
? Not as good as having dirty clothes out of sight in the hamper where they belong, but mucho better than on the floor anyway! Apparently it's something to do with the extra effort involved with lifting a laundry hamper lid

The one thing that drives me most crazy is the very Swedish habit of not using a plate and just crumbing everywhere when he eats crispbread.

other little habits he has...

Leaving dairy products open on the bench.

Killing random items of clothing when he does the washing. Example - my favourite wool scarf in the hot wash(It looked like a old dish rag afterwards
), red skirt in with white shirts...

Oh and getting the clothes into the hamper is just not happening - he sometimes manages to make it to the top of the washing basket, but he cant seem to open it and put them in!!

I guess it's only fair I mention my bad habit he complains about the most...

When I come home I put my bag and stuff on the sofa and unpack all my books that I need and sort them out. I dont have a big desk so I always have lots of extra junk and papers sitting on the sofa come evening when we want to sit down and watch some tv and relax - Dan calls it Kimmy pollution, and it drives him crazy.

Most definitely! But you know...? Although there must be, I've never really been able to get him to admit to any annoyances that I do on his side of the fence? Just makes me love him all the more. The big lug

Jeremy is actually pretty good.
The only thing that really bothers me is that he's always late, which makes me late.
I enjoy being prompt, I take quick showers, it takes me ten minutes to get dressed, do my hair and makeup and be ready to leave.
I have to tell him to start getting ready before I get in the shower, and even then I'm done and ready a good 15-20 minutes before him.

This was the perfect time to ask me this!!

-when he tells me to pick up something for dinner then he forgets and goes fishing and doesn't come back till 8 or 9pm

-never changes the toilet paper

For the most part he's easy to deal with

My hubby does a lot of the same things i`m seeing on here...except , on the UP-SIDE he does put his clothes in the hamper...and keeps the car filled with gas.
One thing I have not seen yet on here (on the DOWN-SIDE) is when he trims his beard he leaves the little hairs in the sink!
I`ve had him for almost 40 years though, and he is WONDERFUL in so many other ways, so guess, after this long ,I`m just going to keep him....besides...at 55 I`m getting too old to try to chane another one. (And besides...i`m sure there are some things i do that bug him too) PS NO ONE in this house knows how to change the toilet paper but me! Kinda nice to think of myself as indispensable for some reason!!!

Keep up with this thread. It's making me really happy to be living by myself!

There are many things about my ex that drove me crazy but they were never the usual guy things. In fact, I'm the one always forgetting to put my dirty clothes in the hamper, leaving piles of dirty dishes when I don't feel like cleaning and so on. I'm good at domestic tasks, but only on my own schedule.
Good thing I'm living by myself because I'd be driving someone crazy otherwise

Jeremy does that, but the upside is it's in his bathroom upstairs and he's the one that cleans it!
I have all of my things in the downstairs bathroom.

He is clean, puts his dirties in the hamper every day as he gets ready for bed.
Even helps me sort laundry.

When I tell him I am not feeling well and don't want to cuddle and he tries anyway. I know he loves me but sometimes it just makes me madder.

Mike obsesses! About everything..but mostly his car, & money. Oh, how he worries. And you should hear him about the football pool! he will obsess about his picks all week long, over the course of the weekend, & even afterwards!
If there is something wrong with his car, I hear about it for days, or till he gets it fixed. If it isn't right, I really hear about it. He'll talk it to death.

Cupboard, closet, medicine cabinet doors -- never closed. Lights turned on, never off. But........ it's become second nature to just do it as I'm passing by the open door or blazing light. And he DOES get his laundry into the hamper.
Oh, the other thing is that no horizontal surface shall be empty -- even if it's my horizontal surface, like the top of the washer, dryer, freezer, ironing board -- i.e. all my laundry sorting surfaces -- which are adjacent to his workbench, and hold admirably whatever it is that there's no more room for there.

But, you're right -- they're not deal breakers, not by a long way!

Oh boy.. where to start???

The hairs in the sink, tissues that some how miss the trash can in the bathroom and end up on the floor, never taking out the garbage.. just piling more on top, never putting his shoes away and, as rupunzel said, anything that could have something put on top of it will. He never likes to put anything away. Movies, cds, whatnot are always on the tables and counters.

But the absolute worst... he is a pack rat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He will never throw anything away in fear that he may want to use it again some day. We have boxes upon boxes of junk that he will never let me get rid of and swears that he might need it some day... left only to collect dust and take up valuable storage space.

But what he doesn't know .... is that every so often I go and take a few things out at a time and TOSS THEM!!

What he doesn't know won't hurt him!

I have four boys in the house. A 4 year old, a 14 year old, an 11 year old, and a 42 year old.

He never puts anything back where it came from. I have left things for weeks, hoping that he would take the hint and put them back where they belonged. Nope. Selectively blind.

When I take a shower and leave the bathroom, it's almost impossible to tell I was ever in there. When he takes a shower, the shower curtain is half in, half out of the tub, tub not rinsed, bath mats all askew, fingerprints all over the medicine cabinet mirrors, water splashed all over the top of the sink.

He's also a huge procrastinator. Our hall has been half drywalled for 2 months now. I'm thinking of taking a course in home remodeling to finish it myself!

Gotta love 'em, though.

My BF is wonderful. He will do all kinds of housework.
Which would be great, but he has a very poor eye for detail. He just doesn't see all the dirt that's still left when he gets done. lol So I just have to go behind him and do it over anyway.

He's also a bit on the hyper side, so he has to fidget all the time. This usually takes the form of singing to himself. That would be great, since when he sings for real he has a very nice bass voice....
But he does his "fidget singing" in this really goofy falsetto voice, since almost everything is out of his range...it's really bad. AND he has a hard time staying in key when he doesn't have anything to sing along with.
This is all exacerbated by the fact that I have a degree in music and am VERY sensitive to bad pitch and bad "vocal technique". So there are times that I want to strangle my dear sweet boy who I love very much. LOL
