Give me his paw, for a treat.
I say 'Paw' then he lefts his front paw up and then i shake it n say 'thankyou, good boy' n he gets his treat.

He's so cute the way he does it. So you can teach old cats tricks.
Anyone else's cat can do things like that?

How cool!!

How does one train a cat to do tricks? I have trained dogs before, but never a cat.... Even though I have had more cats than dogs. lol Do you just use treats as motivation and reward?
I'm sure that dog techniques don't work on kitties, since they think so differently.

I just got a treat, showed it him, but kept hold of it. Then just said paw and give his paw a little nudge so that he would lift it up then id shake it, n just give him a lillt treat. (so's that he knew he would get a treat after i shuck his hand.) Then he'd just start doing it on his own.
But he did get greedy and kept puttin his paw up asking for more, so when he does that i just say 'ah ah, no'. so now he just waits for me to put my hand out n say paw.

Here... or There... Hmmm
That's neat... though I don't think I've taught Kitters any "trick" If I say "let's go na-night" she comes from where ever she is and goes in the room and gets on her tub and lays down. Daddy even tried it the other night and she did it for him too! (It was the first time he's ever said it) She has us do tricks though, she does a little dance in front of her food dish so we know she wants new COLD water!
