my best friend emailed me this.
warning: yes, it pulls on the heartstrings. hopefully enough to make one pull on the pursestrings and donate.

i've never donated as much as i have to this particular cause. every time i'm at petsmart or petco, they ask if you want to donate to help the animals. and every time i dish it out. cause a few bucks to me is a lifeline to them.

yeah ok now i'm sniffling again.
still a good video.

Oh my, this will make you cry. I was just watching Fox News. Shepard Smith is in Port Arthur, Tx. following Hurricane Rita. He was giving the news and there were dogs running loose there around him. This is heartbreaking about these animals who are left behind.

How could you leave your pets behind like that?
Brad and I talked about the what if's and I told him that no matter what I'd NEVER leave my cats behind. even if it meant staying behind with them. He told me that he'd go and get the cats if there was a natural disaster threatening and he was at work. I told him I'd already be home getting them put in the car and ready to go whereever we could. I always have thirty days of wet food on hand and at LEAST two huge containers of dry food. I think they'd be ok, a little stressed, but ok, and most importantly, with us.

I could only watch about 10 seconds of it!

I want to go pick them up, but I know I cant.

How could you leave them there to die a slow death?

I watched a program last night by NOW and apparently according to this program either they left without their pets or they left alone. A lady was telling the heartbreaking story of her husband having to leave his dog. I dont think most of those people wanted to leave their pets but didnt have a choice. I hope that none of us ever have to make that choice but if it was between my children or my pets my children would win out and I absolutely LOVE my pets. They are my babies too.
What a heartbreaking situation all the way around. You can hear about the stories about all the children they found dead or alone as well. Very very very sad.
