My cat had kittens a week ago. She is an agressive cat and I was concerned for her kittens, however, she has been a fantastic mommy (feeding, cleaning, running back to them if they cry), until last night. She gets that wide eyed look in her eyes and decides she is going to play, starts to bite her kitties, who are screaming, and plays as if she is going to toss them in the air. I seperated her from them, played a game to burn energy. Yet this morning she did it again. I have her seperated right now while the babies are asleep. I don't know how this should be handled. I am not able to monitor her with them 24/7, would she hurt them?
