Care to share your sleep habits. Like right now, it's 1:40 PM, and all I want to do is lay down for a while and sleep. I go through this pretty much every day.
Jerry and I officially get up at 5:30 AM to get ready for work, but I wake up alot through the night and Tiggy starts walking on me about 4 am so I don't sleep through the 5:30 alarm. He thinks the alarm goes off to feed them!

Usually about 9 PM, I'm ready for bed............I would love to sleep a full 8 hours, but I've never been like that, way before my kits came into my life.
Jerry laughs at me, because if I hear the slightest mew, I'm UP and I know exactly which one did it and I'm off to see if they're ok.

At the kitty's beck and call
My goodness Susie - you get up in the middle of the night
. I usually get a full night's sleep no matter what. A siesta is lovely though - especially when we go abroad and it's better to stay out of the hottest part of the day. So, usually around 4.30 in the afternoon my eyelids start to get heeeaaavvvvyyy. That's not so bad - unless I'm teaching a 4 - 5 session

Now I've got back from Sicily I find myself wanting my afternoon nap

I can usually use one, but hardly ever get one. Kinda hard to catch a nap when you have a 3 year old who does not nap. I just wish I could drain a little of her energy (trust me, she'd never miss it!) and take it for myself. I'm feeling like I could use one about now, hubby's sleeping on the couch, and sleeping is soooo contagious! LOL!

I would love a nap right now!! Its only 1:30PM! haha...1/2 days work left!
I usually try to catch a quick nap when I get off work at about 5:30ish...usually a 1/2 hr nap will do me good for the rest of the night, and then its back to bed at 10! haha

Susie, It sounds like you need to be tested for sleep apnea. Not to tell you what to do or anything but it is something you might want to talk to your doctor about. I use to never be able to sleep for more than 45 mins or so without waking up and was tired all of the time. It was because I would stop breathing and would wake up to start again because of constrictions of my airway. Please think about having a sleep test done.

I suffer from insomnia, which is worse right now due the withdrawal from the antidepressants. Falling asleep isn't a problem, but staying asleep all night is. I wake up and begin what the doctors call "redundant thought processes". If I am able to catch a nap in the afternoon, I do. That doesn't happen often, though. Besides, I'm afraid it would make my night time sleep habits worse!

I sleep too much, I suspect much of it is depression related.
I go to bed at around midnight and sleep till 7:30 am, then in the afternoon I curl up with a cat or six on the couch anywhere from 2pm to 3pm, and sleep till 5 or 6pm.

Why you could substitute my name, Neil for Jerry and just a generic cat name.
But I've laid abed now until 5:50 am!!
I've fallen asleep on the sofa at 9:40 pm. But I wake up because I drink too many liquids at night and have to go to the bathroom. But last night I took a nice long walk and then visited with a neighbor and I slept throughout the night!! If I or Neil have a sleeping problem due to the cats-one of us moves to the other bedroom!!!

At the moment I want to sleep quite a lot but generally get a fullish night sleep and an extra hour and a half in the day. I am making the most of it coz I am sure that is going to change as soon as the little one is here

I have to be at work at 8.. so I usually wake up around 7:30. I am ready for a nap by 9.
I usually get out of work between 6:30 - 7. And when I come home I usually fall asleep (unplanned) around 8. Then stay up until about 1. I never feel like I get enough sleep. In fact, I could go for a nap right now. lol
