I've been feeling....weird for the last few days and was wondering what it's all about. I've been getting this sensation......I'd call it mild vertigo.........and also feeling really drained of energy. I JUST realized I've been forgetting to take my medication (Effexor). Jeez, I'm slow. It's a relatively new med, only been on it for a few months, but I've been kind of busy lately around supper time (when I'd normally take it) and it just completely slipped my mind. Usually I'm very good about compliance to meds. I feel like a moron. Has anyone else ever done something like this?

My goodness yes! When I was younger, I used to think I didn't need my meds every day, and then I'd end up very dizzy and ready to puke! To this day, if I don't take them EVERY DAY, it's a really bad scene. And in fact, did you know that sometimes your pills will not be the exact mg that they're labeled ? I guess that the process they use to mix and distribute is not accurate. Sometimes I take my meds and still feel like crap! Like today!!

Effexor is what I have stopped taking. It's been 2 weeks, and I still suffer from what I call "vision drag". It's like turning my head and having my brain not catch up right away. Then there's the insomnia, the regular vertigo, the nausea, the headaches.........right there with you! I used to get withdrawal if I didn't take the medicine at the same time every day. Now, I can't wait for it to get out of my system!

I had to stop taking it to b/c oddly enough it was making my anxiety worse and I lost 15 lbs (I only weighed 105 to begin with so it was pretty bad).

Yes, I do unfortunately. I'm on bp meds and sometimes I forget to take them for a couple of days. I've been working real hard for the past month to remember and only missed 1 day. That's a big improvement for me.

On ulcer meds here, and I routinely forget to take them.
I mean, I've only been on them for 3 years now, how am I supposed to remember?
Of course, when I forget, anything I eat or drink will of course give me terribly painful heartburn and reflux.

Hmmm... maybe I should get you to ship me your leftovers - I could stand to lose 15 pounds! (just kidding! I would never take another persons perscribed drugs... of course that doesn't stop me from asking my doctor about it!

For me it is usually my prozac and the claritan. The prozac I won't immediately noticed - however the claritan I will notice as soon as I start to have a sinus headache and dripping nose and itchy eye.

Classic withdrawal symptoms from Effexor. Quite miserable, aren't they! Glad you realized you had forgotten to take it!

To intentionally stop taking a medication such as this, it is best to do so very gradually to minimize the symptoms.

Ohhh yes, I have. I take Lexapro for anxiety and depression. When I forget it even for a day, I'm bitchy (dont know if cursing is allowed here or not.. sorry if it isnt!) and tired and whiney and... blah! Its a bribe for me not to forget.

IA. If you need me, just meow..
I forget my Tegretol now and again. I need to check my birth control pills to make sure I took it in the morning and at night I just hope I remembered. I hate taking pills and now that my memory isn't good anymore, it's really hard to remember if I took it or not. But I remember it when I start to get really bad headaches and my whole body is just not right
. It's then I realize that I probably didn't take my medication that day.
