i worry so much when something goes wrong with my 15 year old kitty. lately he has been getting bloody noses, and it's not just a little bit of blood. i'm talking about puddles of it on the floor and blood clot looking stuff that comes out. he doesn't seem to be in any pain and he's not sneezing (read in a book if they sneeze it could be a bug that has crawled up inside).

my mom was thinking that since he had a fang removed, that his bottom one is poking up inside where the old one was and causing it to bleed and since his mouth is shut, it ends up coming out his nose. he's also diabetic, in case that might have any significance. any ideas what this could mean? i'm sooo worried

Hi jinxess.

Just wanted to share that Mr. Blue, my 13-year-old cat has been getting bloody sneezes on & off since 1999. The first episode, I went into a panic and went to the emergency vet. I can't remember now what came of that particular visist (was 6 years ago), but I was told it wasn't life-threatening.

In 2002, he had a nasal scope done. White, fibrous tissue was found in his nasal cavity (this only occurs from his left nostril). The biopsy came back benign. They said it was "chronic inflammatory disease" ??

I had him to the vet last week, and after reviewing his previous records (this is a new vet), I was told it definitely isn't malignant (if so, he would have been long gone) and that it is probably a vascular anomoly. We are going to try a low-dose of steriods in the coming weeks to see if it resolves.

Your cat needs to be seen by the vet asap. In this kind of situation, I wouldn't want to take any chances.

Your baby needs to see a vet - especially at his age it could be anything such as high blood pressure, etc.
