Any other Wine-o's out there?

I love Chardonnay or Gewurztraminer when it is warm, and a Merlot or Cabernet when it is cool.

Do you have any favorites?

Goulaine Vouvray...YUM! I also love Toad Hollow's Risque, a sparkling wine. Another good sparkling wine is Brachetto d'acqui. Let's see...Riesling Spatlese...the list goes on and on in this house!

I'm a wimpy wine drinker.
I don't like the taste of alcohol, so red wines taste really bad to me, and the frutier, the better! So lots of Arbor Mist over here.

I started with wine coolers, and now I am hard-core!

I still drink a lot of Arbor Mist, too (hey, it's cheap and does the trick!), but my favorite wine is any reisling. I could drink reisling with anything!

I've recently been getting a bit more into wine as my dad has now incorporated a large selection of fine wines into his business! My current favorite is not one that is well known, but it's an Ice Wine. The bottle I have right now is Selaks and was produced in New Zealand. I figured, since my dad sells the stuff now I might as well start getting into it a bit more since it's all free to me!

Yes, we like our wine. We have "Chateau Cardboard" on the shelf/in the fridge for when we just want a glass -- the red is Merlot, the white is Sauvignon Blanc. It's fine for weeknights or a casual glass.

For special dinners, including our Friday night dinner, we have a bottle (or more if we have company) and it depends what the meal is. We drink more reds than whites, on the whole: Cabernet, Merlot, Shiraz, Zinfandel... But we do enjoy a good Chardonnay or Gewurtz or Pinot Gris, and are open to trying pretty much anything whose provenance we trust.

We buy lots of BC wines, but also Californian, Australian, Chilean, South African -- others too, but those are the most frequent.

Yeah, we like our wine.

Edited to add: you have good taste, Rigel!

oooh! OOh! WINE...

I know the Wine-O...

I like Pinot Noir when I'm feeling frosty, White Merlot (BERINGER makes a really lovely White Merlot) "anytime", served room-temp.

Chardonnay, icey cold, is *perfect* for sitting around a roaring campfire. Goes GREAT with smooshy burnt marshmallows.

Also, Gluhwein (I think that's the spelling?)... HOT SPICED WINE... made in a crockpot? mmm. Apple cider, cranberry juice, red wine, SUGAR, cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg and oranges floating all around. Let it mull for a few hours & mmm does it warm ya up inside & make your brain all relaxed.

There's a small winery in Ohio that we go to every year called Mon Ami on Catawba Island. http://www.monamiwinery.com/index.html Christy can attest that their wine is really good!
My all time favorite is Pink Catawba which is a semi-sweet pink wine. I also LOVE their Spiced Wine, which is a lot like the Gluhwein described above, but it's already bottled. I also got their Semi-Sweet Merlot and Concord wines in the past couple of years for one of those good dinners.
I really wish they shipped out of state!

There are a lot of vineyards in this region, and I prefer the local Trollinger (a light, semi-dry red wine) or Riesling.
