Cats (naturally). I order mine from Colorful Images - they're cheaper than the ones from my bank. Since I only write 2-4 checks per month, this box will last a loooooong time.

Is it true that Americans can write a check/cheque (we spell it en francais) for anything?Even a pack of gum or gas or whatever? An American told me this once and I couldn't believe it!! We can't do this here. People usually only use checks/ques for bills.

Yup that's pretty much the case, as long as whatever store you are in takes personal checks. It's kind of annoying though to be on the express line in the supermarket and have the person in front of you write a check for $6 worth of groceries, lol.

Yes, it's true, although you usually don't want to write one for a very small amount as it's not cost effective. And there are some places that don't accept checks, like restaurants, liquor stores, and many gas stations. There are more places that don't accept them as time goes by.

I hardly EVER write a check anymore. The only thing left that I can't pay online is the Water & Sewer bill. Everything else is online, or I pay with the debit card. When I started running into places where I would make out a check, and they'd run it and hand it back to me, it's like, "Why am I bothering with this if they're just going to do an e-check anyway???

I'd always had fancy checks though, the ones I use when I do use them has a sort of an antique map background from Checks Unlimited. Before that it was a Southwest design.

My checkbook hasn't been out of the house, in at least 4 years. It is so much simpler to use my debit card and, if I need cash, I hit the ATM or get cash back at WalMart or the grocery store.

Every payday, I write Bill a check for my share of the household expenses and twice a year, I send one to Pima Animal Care for dog licenses (can't do that online yet). My Avon lady gets paid by check, too.

I currently have the Gary Patterson Cats. When I'm paying out the precious few bucks I have, at least they make me smile.

our main account we have Sierra Club checks ( no we arent a member the checks were pretty) our debt paying account has just plain boring starter checks.

we only write checks for paying off debt or for major bills like mortgage, electric bill and cable internet. Everything else is in cash-- i havent written a check in over 6 months-- hubby only writes 3 per month for those 3 bills.

i ordered mine online from checks unlimited, not from the bank. you give them the appropriate numbers & info, & they print the checks & send them to you. can you not do that?

We don't get a choice here either, our cheques are just standard bank issue (but they are free). I have seen some with mice on in the past, but that was a few years back.
