I am so excited ! We are getting a new kitten today. A co-worker of mine is an awesome person who helps ferals and strays. (even neuters and spays) A month or two ago in the midst of a heat wave she found a very small kitten on her doorstep. She hand fed him (vet didn't think he would survive). He survived and she needed a home for him. She fosters a number of cats/kittens and George is special to her. I couldn't resist. Sooo, when I come home from work tonight, George will be with me ! I can't wait. She suggested leaving him in a carrier for 2-3 days in the main living area and then everyone should be ok. Any suggestions? My five are all males, neutered and are ages 12 - 18 months. I know when I trapped Gizmo and let him around the bigger boys he received a leg injury and had to be in his carrier for 6 weeks.
He was only about 4-5 weeks old though and George should be older than that. I forgot to ask. I believe it was during July when she found him. Ooops, rambling. Any suggestions to ease George's introduction? Thanks!

Get a feliway diffuser and plug it into an outlet in the room where the introductions will be. To me 2-3 days in a carrier doesn't sound great IMHO, I had tia in her own room for a month with short supervised visits after doing the scent towel thing and them playing paws under the door for a week. Also maybe some rescue remedy drops in the big cats water to keep them calm. I would give more time to the adjustment period if it were me, wishing you good luck with the intros.
