Hello all,

My female cat is peeing in our guest shower. I noticed at my old house she did this a few times in the guest sink - no clue why. So I moved her outside there. Now we are in a totally different city, where I cannot let her be an outside cat because our house is right next to two busy streets.

The only thing I can think of her acting this way is being introduced to my fiance's other cat and having to live with him and my other cat. She seems to use the litter perfectly fine when it comes to pooping, but not peeing.

She's been fixed for 3 years now and is the most aggressive of the 3 cats we have.

I am desperately seeking advice to stop her from doing this and perferably using a cat door downstairs that leads to an outside (covered) litter box like the other two use. If I can't get her to stop and use the other box, I will be forced to get rid of her - which I dont' want to cause I have had her for over 4 years.

Please help -

When cats pee on cold surfaces it is almost always caused by a urinary tract infection. So, please take your cat to the vet and have the vet test her urine to see whether there are signs of infection or crystals.

Almost every single person I have advised to go to the vet has argued that "my cat doesn't seem sick" or "I am sure that it is a behavior problem." But once I was finally able to convince them to go to the vet, it has almost always (close to 100% of the time) been found to have a urinary tract infection or blockage.

Please get the soonest appointment you can and ask specifically for a urinalysis -- a normal vet check will not detect urinary tract problems.
