And it sucks!!!
I hate it. I hate everything and everyone right now!!!

I swear, I feel like ripping someone's head off.
I have been so out of it...from irritability to insomnia to just plain sadness. I did have one cigarette yesterday and will probably have one today. I just started on Zyban so hopefully that will kick in.

Please send the girl some help! Or some ideas to make this process easier!! I promise, I will try to be nice!

All I can offer is a good luck, it isn't easy
I hope you can get through it. I tried 3 or 4 times I just call myself a looser, either that or I just don't want to or am not ready to quit, best to you

I remember someone long time ago had a big dish of carrots and ate them at ciggie craving time. Put all the money you are saving daily in a jar so you can see it.
I'm sure the American Lung Association (is there such a group??) has suggestions for you to follow.
IT WILL GET EASIER!!!!!
I'm sure you can breathe easier now and food will be tasting better-esp CHOCOLATE!!

Yeah, I did have a better and easier workout at Curves last night...but that doesn't take the cravings away!

Yes...yes...yes...definitely hang in there. I recently quit smoking too, on October 4th it will be exactly one year ago that I smoked my last cigarette. I really don't have any advice to offer since different things work for different people, and what works for one may not work for another. One thing I will say is that for the first 72 hours are the absolute hardest part of quitting and you have already gotten through this. So...just keep hanging in there and you'll kick this horrible habit!!!!!

We're here for you!!!!

EEEK, I cheated...I had a few last night! And now I'm paying for it today with a stuffed up nose and sore throat. This sucks, I wish I never ever smoked a cigarette in my life. I really hope this Zyban kicks in today.

You can always do what Bradley did when he quit the cigs cold turkey...take up dipping
. I think chaw is worse than cigs!

Seriously, though, I'm sending you some mega strength vibes. I know you can do this Susan!

Susan, I felt the same way before I quit smoking. You need to be READY and you need REALLY strong will power in order to quit, and resist the nicotine fits. Once you do quit, you feel soooo much better, and all the health risks smoking causes are drastically reduced.

Keep trying!

Hey Rigel...
Thanks!!!!!

That's wonderful that you are working towards the no smoking goal. As a former smoker myself I know how hard it can be to quit. I found that the routines I had were the hardest to break (smoke after dinner) that kind of thing. I found that if I put a carrot in my hand like a cigarette or piece of celery it sure helped keep my hands busy.

I for sure applaud you though!!!

Thanks guys!!! I really appreciate your help. And you're right, it is definitely the routines I need to change...like in the car and after eating. I was freakin' out so bad this week that I went and bought a pack. BAD GIRL!! So then I told myself I can't quit cold turkey, I can't keep making myself feel all guilty sooooooo let's do this gradually!

So I went on Zyban and boy 'ol boy, it's getting more easier now.
Because with Zyban, you still may want to smoke, you may still want to hold it, you light it up and take a puff...and BLAHHHHH, it tastes soooo icky and different...and I end up putting it out. Sooooo, hopefully this will work. I'm starting to smell things much better already.
Thank you guys for the encouragement!!!
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!

Just visualize that emerald (ruby/sapphire/insert stone choice here!!) ring/bracelet etc... that you can buy with ALL THAT MONEY THAT YOU WILL SAVE!!!
Find a picture of something that you would like to buy with that money and keep it handy to remind your..

I know you can do this.....................
