There are so many issues going on in the world, particularly the US where the majority of our members are, that we have decided to forego the Annual TCS Fundraiser this year. With the great need for donations from Hurricane Katrina, and another monster hurricane on the way to the Gulf Coast, we didn't feel it right to put our hands out as well.

We do, of course, encourage everyone here to donate what they can to relief efforts, human or animal, or local animal rescue/shelter groups.

Thank you all for understanding. We do hope to bring the fundraiser back to the fore next year.

I'm just curious...what were the fundraisers usually like? I've never been here for one.

The first year (2 years ago), we put together a wonderful cookbook from recipes submitted by the members.
It did VERY well. Last year...well, it slipped our collective minds until it was really too late to put something else together. So we offered the cookbook again with the proceeds going to a difference rescue org, and it didn't do as well (probably because most of us already had it!).

We'll have the opportunity to do it again. It's just that right now we feel that there are other worthy causes that people are already contributing to, and are probably already stretching thin for, so it isn't fair to those to have our own fundraiser.

OH! That "different rescue org" the TCS fundraiser went to, was my own beloved, www.katsnkittens.com

We were and are still, so very grateful, for ALL the donations we did receive, for our dear little stray and abandoned kitties in Mid-Ohio! We are still working very hard, to feed them, nurture them, keep them healthy, spay/neuter them and find GOOD homes for them! Thanks to you all again, for the kind donations you sent our way. EVERY penny went to help some poor little kitty, whose life WAS made better by you, who really do care! ((HUGS)) and thanks so much, to TCS, for picking KatsnKittens Rescue & Adoption Group for your fundraising efforts!

If anyone is interested (I've gotten a couple PMs from people asking
), and we do have a lot of new members since last year
, the cookbook is still available with 100% of the donations going to Kats N Kittens through PayPal at http://www.meowhoo.com/cgi-bin/links...ge.cgi?ID=1992

The cookbook is wonderful, with many fabulous recipes including recipes for our kitties.

I would like to second this! I just downloaded it and there are LOTS of recipes. I haven't had a chance to look through them all, but there are already a few I would like to try over the holidays!

Please donate to the Red Cross and SPCA Houston. We'll definitely need the help come next week. Especially, if we don't have jobs left

Candie, that's exactly why we decided not to do a fundraiser this year. There are so many in need already, and with Rita on the way there will be so many more in need. We know that many people have limited "extra" to give. This year is unprecidented in the amount of need because of large scale natural disasters...
