That's the first rule of being owned by a cat....never leave any food unattended!!

When Chuckie and Spyder were a few months old I was mixing up a big batch of eggs in a bowl (it was for an omlete for dinner) and I left the kitchen for one minute when I came back they were both drinking the egg from the bowl!

Don't tell anyone but I used the egg anyway!

You cooked it, so any kitty germs were annihilated!

I once left a pair of wraps on the table to keep Chay from eating my gerbil, and I turned around to find Billy licking up my ranch dressing!

You know, Melichus I'm afraid had me spoiled
, he was so polite and not really interested in people food. He would "ask" for a taste, and that's all he wanted, just a taste then he would leave you alone.

These two ...

I was trying to eat a sandwich at the computer the other day and I probably looked a sight as I would take a bite, hold the sandwich at arms's length above my head while I chewed, take another bite, put my arm up again ...
... Mithril was right in my face and putting him down on the floor was like putting a spring-loaded toy down as he bounced right back up!

That's the truth!
Miss Kitty could care less about people food, but we got a rude awakening when Zoe came to live with us! She goobles it up any chance she gets.

I just take it for granted that I'm sharing breakfast with Pushy!

Tonight my husband (foolishly) left half his strip loin steak unattended. Needless to say, Pushy thoroughly enjoyed it!

Milk unattended = Kitty Treat!

I must have just gotten very lucky with my two. Trent wants to smell everything we eat or drink, but unless it's milk he's not interested at all. He just looks at us like "Oh my god! You're really going to eat that?!? Gross!!!"

Ophelia waits very patiently for us to finish our plates/bowls, and then she gets to sniff it/lick at the plate if there isn't anything bad for her in the meal. But she doesn't bother us while we eat.

The exception to this is when Earl has cookies and milk in bed at night.
He lets them take a few sips of milk before he gets it (what a devoted kitty daddy!
). Good thing they are both lactose tolerant!

Teufel doesnt eat peoples food unless its milk or cream..
But kaylee!
she wanted to taste bens food last night he was eating horse radish spread, and she enjoyed it!
I yelled at him beacause she will end up having diahrreah if he keeps on letting her taste all this food! and infact at 4 am in the morning he screamed at me because someone i dont know which one of the kits did a small diahrreah on the floor and he stepped in it

Rambo is my official food inspector and taste tester. The problem is my house is being renovated so i have to eat on the couch in the family room which allows him to get comfy in my lap and really get into my food. It's even worse if i need to use a knife and fork because he knows my hands are occupied with those and i won't be as quick to stop him. Last night he decided to check out a bag of chips that was left unattended. I came back to find only a tail sticking out of the bag (and a big mess all around it). I guess he likes salt and vinegar!

I'm usually pretty safe with unattended food. If I get up they always follow me to see what I'm going to get now! Now when I'm sitting and eating totally different story!! I get paws reaching up to touch the plate & kitties on the table. They know if they don't annoy me too much, they'll usually get to lick the plate or get a bite or two of what I'm eating. When they are really annoying I just ignore them and put the plate in the sink. Then I get the look "Mom what did we do? You're so mean!"

My housemate left some cheese on the counter in the kitchen and Cupid jumped up there and was sniffing it--he didn't even eat it. Then my housemate turned around and said "Cupid, NO!" I jumped up and went in there and told him if he ever talks to Cupid like that again,
. It was his fault anyway. My poor baby.

Henry is rarely interested in sitting in my lap, but when I'm eating, totally different story. I never give them people food but boy he sure was interested in my ham the other night, LOL. He's also the mayonnaise eater.
